Nikon users??? (35mm lens related)

I just got the 35mm lens and although my pictures are coming out nice and crisp I feel like I made a mistake! I'm feeling like I should have gotton the 50mm 1.4g. the reason I feel this way is bc I love getting those close up pics/portraits of my baby and don't mind backing up and reframing if I have to. I feel like I can't get close enough with the 35 mm bc quite frankly he moves too fast!!! I shoot with the d90 so my camera is a dx format and the 50mm would be around 75 on my camera.

Should I sell the 35 mm and go for the 50g or just save up and invest in the 50 too? I would love to hear your thoughts if you have experience with one or both of these lenses.
Thank you

I shoot with a D90 also- and I have both the 35mm 1.8 and the 50mm 1.8. I've had the 35 for about a year- and I just got the 50 about a month ago. I do LOVEEEEEEEEEEE the 50, I'm not going to lie, but for my needs, the 50 can be very tight at time due to the crop sensoring on the D90. My 35 is in the shop right now, and I misssssssssss it.

IMO, keep the 35 and save up for the 50. Both are GREAT lenses.

Yes this is what I'm leaning towards! Although I heard the 50 is amazing the 35 is just too nice to give up and the price was right. I feel like it is the perfect walk around lens and I should just invest in the 50 too!
