Re: non yo baby users

If you wanted to thicken the yo baby up, what I did was freeze it. Then let it sit for just a couple of minutes to soften. It was like frozen yogurt for DS, and he thought it was ice cream so he ate the whole thing Chat Icon . Chat Icon

Re: non yo baby users

(Make sure you mix it up by shaking it up first otherwise the fruit will be frozen at the bottom)

What a good idea TY

I personally also like the Dora yogurt, it's thicker but not sure if it's organic. I like it particularly because it's got less sugar than yo baby/yo kids. I *think* it's yoplait but am not positive

See I checked the yokids and its also lowfat, so I guess it's ok for kids but DD is 9 mos and don't know if low fat should be given to her..KWIM....I'll check out the Dora, going to BJ's today and I'll see what they have!

Stonyfield makes non yo baby whole milk organic yogurt too - I used to buy the plain (they also have vanilla) and then add in a earth's best fruit to it for the flavor. I thought it was thicker than the yo baby - but then again we never had any issue with the yo baby.

Trader Joe's makes an organic whole milk yogurt - but only in French Vanilla - in the large container.

My kids like it plain, or sometimes I'll mix some fruit in it.

I buy the trader joe's yogurt cups. I guess they aren't organic but since they are trader joe's brand I figure they aren't that bad. They don't say full or reduced fat on them, but they are 6 grams of fat per serviing so that doesn't sound like reduced to me. They come in blueberry/vanilla or strawberry/banana. They are thick and really yummy!

Trader Joe's makes full fat plain and french vanilla yogurt. It comes in 32 ounce size containers. I buy it at the Trader Joe's by Smithhaven Mall every two weeks.

I've seen that but how do I go out with it? transfering it into a containter just seems like it would get bad faster!

Also can infants not have strawberry yogurt???

If you put a single serving into a container with a lid and put in a bag with an ice pack, there shouldn't be an issue. This is what I do whether its the single serve yo baby or I scoop some out of the big container.

My babies eat strawberry yogurt, also raspberry and blueberry. The dr. said it was fine at their 8 month visit. Just do the 3 day rule with it.

Thanks!!! I may start buying the big container now...I always bring it with an ice pack so it should be the same!

Thanks!!!

I put it in an empty baby food jar. I kept some around just for that purpose (although now I have to buy something plastic b/c daycare doesn't want me to send anything in glass) and I've never had a problem.

As for strawberries - same as with any other food - if your DC has eaten strawberries w/out a reaction, strawberry yogurt is OK. If you haven't introduced strawberries yet, then just watch for reactions.

I hate yo baby for this reason as well. I bought the trader joes individual cups that are full fat but NOT organic. DS loves them. I'm not ONLY giving him organic. I'm always out and about so I like the idea of the container being sealed.
