NYC DOE interview TODAY - help!!!
I am a regular poster, I lost access to my old email though and had to create a whole new account. I was MrsGMomOf3.
Anyway...
I just got a phone call from a principal from a NYC DOE school in Queens. She wants me to come in TODAY for an interview for a job that posted yesterday and I applied for this morning. My head is spinning.
I am a perm sub on the island now and its a dead end.
So... help??? What kids of questions can I expect? I have only ever done the big committee type interviews on Long Island I have no experience with how DOE interviews work. This is my first.

NYC DOE interview TODAY - help!!!
It really varies by principal honestly. What position is it for? I only have knowledge of elementary but they'll probably ask how you balanced literacy, some common core stuff. Also depending on what part of Queens you'll probably have a high ELLpopulation so be prepared for questions relating with that. Good luck!!!

Its for an ICT 5th grade class. I would be the general ed teacher in the room.

That was what I taught last year. They will probably ask how well you collaborate, how you plan to divide responsibilities in the classroom. Also stuff about the state test. Again, Good Luck!!!

Common Core, NYS testing, ability to collaborate etc.
I am DYING for tomorrow because they were specific that they were making a decision and letting us know Monday.
I would LOVE to call tomorrow or send a second email but I don't want to be a pain in the butt.
I just REALLY want this job though

Thanks ladies... I am DYING. I have had several interviews on Long Island... the competition is FIERCE though. I decided that I would make the leap to the DOE and this job would actually be PERFECT for me. Its not a bad commute at all, and i'm VERY much interested in co-teaching.
Fingers and toes and everything crossed. Its early.... I am on pins and needles waiting for the phone to ring. I am fairly certain that I did very well on the interview. I caught a few glances they were giving each other, a bunch of smiles etc... but I feel like every time I THINK I nail an interview, I never hear back. This has been such a grueling process and I just need and want this job so badly.
I will update if I hear anything.. in the meantime, keep those good thoughts coming!
Babylove.... any openings in your school????? LOL

Are there any tips anyone can give me? I send out resume after resume on this DOE teacher finder. Should I just start walking my resume into buildings? Because that's where I am at.
I obviously don't have access to the open market because I am not currently employed through DOE. How do people get these jobs???
I am a good teacher, with great observations and references and education. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have been told that I interview very well, that I am east to talk to, etc.
