What is Obama's exit strategy in regards to the war in Iraq? I'm not familiar and curious. Does anyone know?
Initially he wanted to pull out within 3 months, but has since said no troops by May 2010.

quoting the above question (a very valid one) so maybe, just maybe, one of his supporters can answer it.
also, can anyone list a legislative achievement?? doesn't have the be a lot - just one or two is all i'm asking for... and this discussion is NOT about our current president - we are asking about obama as we are *TRYING* to move forward and maybe get better and better with who we elect!
Here is a summary of just a few OBAMA's Legislative Achievements
As far as foreign policy goes, just by judging what he has accomplished thus far, I have full faith in him that he will surround himself with people with great foreign policy experience...
Here is another link to his Senate page and you can review his voting history and do further search on Bill sponsorship. US Senate - Barack Obama

I think too much emphasis is being put on Republican vs. Democrat. Just because Bush is a Republican doesn't mean anything. He is just an idiot no matter what party he is with.
I think more emphasis has to be put on each candidates views, etc.
I don't know much about politics but that is how I feel.
I am trying to figure out what I am missing about Obama.
I agree with you in a sense - even though I tend towards the Democrats, I was willing to listen to McCain because I agree with a decent amount of what he's saying. But Palin is just way too conservative for me.
I think in terms of Obama's foreign policy - I can tell you at the moment he has the support and respect of people in a lot of foreign countries and while he may not have direct experience, that's a really good start and will place him in better stead than McCain should he get elected.
and he has that respect b/c he gives it.
honestly, if I was a world leader listening to Palin's speech last night...it would be a total turn off.

He was an original co-sponsor of the Federal Funding Acountability and Transparancy Act of 2006. He was the author and sponsor of the Transparancy and Integrity in Earmarks Act of 2006.
Has much of what he has introduced passed yet? No. But again, it takes darn near 60 votes to get anything passed in the Senate these days. Also, during his first Congress (109th Congress, 2005-2006), Dems didn't have the majority they have now in the 110th (2007 to present).
Also, for all opinions and view points, please check out FactCheck.org It is a non-partisan organization set up by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.

Not trying to be argumentative but how is this possible unless all the countries are in complete agreement and agree to peace...
"Would pursue diplomatic effort to reach a comprehensive compact on the stability of Iraq and the region, including Iran and Syria. Compact would aim to secure Iraq's borders, keep neighboring countries from meddling inside Iraq, isolate al Qaeda, support reconciliation among Iraq's sectarian groups and provide financial support for Iraq's reconstruction and development. "
And what constitutes
"Would maintain residual force to perform specific missions in Iraq, like targeting remnants of al Qaeda, protecting U.S. service members and diplomats, and supporting Iraq's security forces."
What exactly does residual force mean other then not everyone is coming home.
none of this is for me to tell you.
to me, it means at least an attempt at diplomacy...not cutting off noses (and pathways to peace) to spite our faces.
there will always be residual forces there I think...but my hope is that is becomes more along the lines of our presence in Germany....
i didn't post this to "prove" Obama's plan is better.
everyone should decide on their own, but based on the evaluation of BOTH "plans"
she asked "what" his plan is. I gave it. that's all.

It is more of a rhetorical question as I am not really looking for you to prove anything to me. I do enjoy what I find to be a healthy discussion of the positions on both sides.

Yes, but how do you get away from it? I am pro-choice, I am against the death penalty, I believe that people have the right to get married regardless of their sexual persuassion, I belive in the little person, i believe in tax cuts for the middle class, I believe that we should get our butts out of Iraq. Now was RNC is going to put up a Republican like that to run??? Until that time, I am stuck with voting along party lines because I need to rely upon the party platform as a whole even if I dont completely agree with the candidate. This election is it Obama/Biden. Personally I LIKE Biden and feel that HIS experience with balance Obama who I DONT particularly care for.

Re: Obama Supporters...
Ok.... Obama lacks any type of experience and despite his very charismatic personality that does not make a leader. His record shows nothing, nada , ziltch.... He may talk a good game but I live by a motto
DEEDS NOT WORDS!!!!
McCain embodies that motto and in these times I must say I want someone who says what he means and means what he says!!!
Obama will be a great legislator one day but he is still to green to be a president JMHO

IMO the experience thing is a ridiculous argument... The president does not make decisions alone.. he is surrounded by tons of people that are knowledgable and experts in their own "areas"....
Yes, I agree to an extent, but I think certain types of experience will help the President be more of a leader, and less of a puppet.
I don't think it necessarily has to be experience in the same exact areas he will have to deal with as President.

Thanks for the link. Took a quick look, it looks pretty good. The media are far too biased, so it's nice to have a resource that's outside mainstream media.

For real!
I was asking a question and GOD FORBID you *wonder* why people feel the way that they do -- and there is NOTHING WRONG with someone who feels differently then me, I've said it a hundred times - I simply am curious to know where they are coming from when they form their opinions and sheesh people get sooooo miffed!
