I don't see it either....do you have a source for this information?
Listen, my DH is a healthcare worker, he was mandated to get it (which was lifted) and they never even got it in for him to get it!
My parents couldn't get it before they traveled abroad (and my father is compromised)
Honestly, he is being FAIR, why should his HEALTHY children get it vs. someone who needs it?

Actually, based on this it seems as if they DID get the shot, it would be wrong b/c he would be using his influence to get it for them.
It says that children with certain conditions are getting it first. They are healthy.
I agree. Most of our kids probably are not eligible for the shot at this point.
I agree-given that there is a shortage and kids in this age group are not considered high risk unless they have complications it makes sense that his kids are not taking it.
It's not any sort of validation that people shouldn't get the shot.

Look- we get it. You don't like Obama and you don't believe in vaccinating.
I thought that I was missing something as well. And I have to agree, if his children got special preference - I would think it wasn't fair.

I can clearly remember two or three posts you already made on the subject of the swine flu vaccine. You clearly are against it, but dont fault Obama because his children are NOT ELIGIBLE to receive it, whether he's pushing it or not.
Also, it's perfectly fine to be against vaccinations, but calling it STUPID, as you did in one thread and SNAKE OIL, as you did in this thread, is truly offensive to those of us who would vaccinate our children if given the choice.
Everyone here tries to make the best decisions for their children and families. I dont see anyone calling you stupid or any other names for choosing to NOT vaccinate your child.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like you're on both sides of the fence on this. In one post you sound like you're upset that so many people in your family have come down with the Swine Flu because they couldn't get the vaccine. But then you say that you have no intention on vaccinating your daughter.
And as far as the Obama issue, besides the fact that there aren't enough doses available to vaccinate healthy children, I don't believe The President himself was the one encouraging people to get the vaccine. Wasn't it the CDC? Mr. Obama is not the head of the CDC. I could be wrong here, but I never saw any recommendations coming from The Office of The President. They always came from the CDC. Sure it is an agency that receives governmental money, but Mr. Obama is not the Commander In Chief of the CDC. So as far as I'm concerned, even if there WERE enough doses for every person in the country, unless he made a public announcement that every American should be vaccinated, to protect the health and integrity of our country, if he decided as a parent not to vaccinate his children, that is his right -- just as it is yours.

"snake oil"?!?!?! That is one of the most ridiculous comments on this subject yet! I actually should not say that b/c hopefully more people will believe that so there are enought vaccines for me, my DH and DS!!! Like everyone said, there is nothing in the article that said they are not going to get the vaccine.

I think (could be wrong) President Ford had his kids taken the swine flu shot back in the 70's but maybe Obama thinks its just not 'right' for his kids?

I understand your post. You have to remember a lot of people on this board get angry or upset and sometimes act like children if they don't agree with your opinion, I learned it the hard way. I think your post is very well put. Probably the best post I read in this whole thread (I read the whole thing) It is not right to say vaccianting or not is stupid. That's mean and immature. We all make the best decisions for our kids. I think
(and this is my opinion) as long as you are educating yourself on the subject and then making a decision instead of following doctors orders totally blindly, you are doing the best for your kids. calling it snake oil is not appropriate and even though we have freedom of speech it IS offensive to the parents who choose to vaccinate their kids. However there are a lot of people on this board who do flame moms who don't vaccinate (and vice versa too) We ALL need to learn to respect each others decisions without putting each other DOWN. When I read such posts I cringe! We are all adults.

I don't get why you would be angry? He has recognized it as a national crisis, however as a parent he still has the right to make decisions about whether or not his children get an immunization.
If he was mandating that people get the shot & his kids didn't get it, then I'd see your point.
