Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
I can't believe that my due date is 6 weeks from tomorrow We've taken child birthing classes, a breastfeeding class and tonight we're doing Infant/Child CPR. I still have so much to do, but I feel like I'm just waiting around for the baby's furniture to be delivered. My apartment is overrun by baby stuff! I'm looking forward to next Friday when I'll have another growth sono!
Hope everyone is feeling good!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
Hi Girls,
I have my 33 week appointment tomorrow. I don't think I am going to get a growth sono but I am starting the every two week visit. I cannot believe that in 41 days I am going to be a mommy of two children.
I am having a sprinkle labor day weekend so I am looking forward to that. I cannot believe it is already the end of August. 6 weeks will fly by faster than we think.

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
It does seriously feel like time just FLEW by.
Had a growth sono yesterday and both twins are just about 3 lbs now ...Which is an awesome weight and I'm just hoping they stay this course.
We are talking more and more of me having a c/s around the 14th of Oct...give or take...my Dr. Doesnt think I will make it much past 36 weeks. Which scares me a bit but when I know they are weighing that much now, I try to relax.
Plus to be honest, I dont know how much past that I could make it. The pain and pressure is getting bad and I have difficulty walking or standing for more then a few minutes at a time these days.
They are still moving ALL over though and it is the BEST feeling in the world.
Now We just need to pick our and decide on NAMES!
SO glad everyone's feeling well

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
Seriously! Only 9 more weeks for me!
Had my 31 wk appt yesterday. Blood pressure is good, as well as weight. I am up 20 pounds so far.
The crib was delivered and set-up up last weekend. Now DH and I are going to spend the next few weekends rearranging & repurposing furniture to make space in our one bedroom apt in Manhattan for the baby. We are definitely being minimalist about everything!
My Bradley childbirth preparation classes are going well. I am learning quite a bit, but I have to say that seeing videos of natural, non-medicated births still make me tear up (as in cry, not a good way!).
Hope all you ladies are doing well!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
Hello all!
I'm 33 weeks today and I feel great! Sleeping is getting difficult and not very restful, and I have heartburn at night but other than that I'm doing well.
DH just painted the nursery, furniture will be delivered next Weds and I can't wait to see it all together! We had my shower and I got nearly everything I need (and more!) I just have to purchase an infant car seat and eventually have it installed. I think I have a ped selected, I just have to call to confirm. I haven't packed a hospital bag yet, once the furniture is delivered to the nursery and we move everything in I'll be able to get more organized and know what else I need.
I'm hoping NOT to go early (I know that might sound crazy!) As much as I want to meet our little baby, I feel unprepared and want as much time as I can get with DH and me!
Good luck to all!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
I had my 33 week appointment this morning. I have gained 10 lbs for the pregnancy and my obgyn is thrilled. He said I am measuring exactly to my due date. At my last appointment I was measuring a week behind so I feel really good that she had a growth spurt.
My next appointment is in 2 weeks and then it will be less than a month until I am a mommy of 2 children. At the next appointment my obgyn told me I will have the group B strep test and my first internal. DD is head down according to his external palpitations so we will see where I am then.

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
Surreal surreal surreal!!!
It's crazy that it's almost time!!
I just had my 34 week appointment yesterday and everything's great! I only gained 2 lbs since last time, thank god, cuz I did a big jump last time I was there
Feeling really great! Of course the belly's getting more in the way trying to run around after my 2 year old. But we're managing. The baby does NOT stop moving. It's crazy how much s/he is! So cool.
I go back in 2 weeks for another check up, then a sono at 37.
Not much longer after that!
I gave myself a time to have everything ready and that's Oct 1st. So hopefully I'll have everything washed and put away...and my bag packed for the hospital.
Hope you're all feeling just as good!!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
Can you believe October is almost here!
Had my 35+ week appt yesterday. My first of my weekly BioPhysical Profile appts. Baby Natie scored a 10 out of 10. It was great to see him again! We saw he has some hair on his head - oh and reconfirmed he's a little man! I was suppose to have my fetal growth sono, but because of a scheduling mix up it's now on Tuesday. So Monday another BPP & Tuesday Growth Sono.
Natie's nursery is done & all clothes are washed. This weekend we're going to add to our registry & then chg the due date so we can get the completion coupon sooner.
Doing great on the GD front. Still no need for meds. Dr's are happy with my numbers, so that's a relief. Can't wait until it's over so I can enjoy pancakes & ice cream without the guilt.

Hi everyone. Hope you are all feeling well. I don't know where time is going. I'm 33 weeks and have nothing done for this little one. I have been researching double strollers though. I figure once October comes then I will start getting things in order. I definately have more aches and pains this time around. Feel good.

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
So happy to hear all the ladies doing so well...Its getting SOOO close.
Have to admit I'm getting a wee bit nervous about it all....the actual c/Section etc.
I'm 32 weeks...we started Bio physicals on the babies and all looks good.
Yesterday we had that and a Non stress test and they must have been a bit sleepy since they didnt want to move much....Saw my OB and as a precaution went to Labor and Delivery to get steroids to mature these guys lungs in case they come earlier then expected. I go back to L & D today for one more shot.
My cervix is still shortening but still in a "good place"..so not too many worries at all about that.
I have a trillion complaints about aches and pains, but ahh, we all have em I'm sure....
Just so surreal how fast time goes!!
I wonder who will be the first Oct. Mom to be to go? ?!?!?

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
I think that it will be MrsAT or me.....I am going to be a september mommy as my repeat c/s is scheduled for 9/30.
As for me, my left hand is in agony. I am so swollen it is not even funny. I had my first internal at week 34 along with the GBS test. It did not hurt b/c the obgyn who did it has small hands. When my obgyn does the next one at 37 weeks I am preparing for a world of hurt. His hands are massive. I have my 36 week appointment this afternoon. I am so tired it is not funny. We have almost everything for the baby. I still have to:
- pack the last minute things in my hospital bag - install the car seat (week 38) - wash the clothing and bedding - put all of the stuff we have into its proper locations. Right now everything is in our dining room. I plan on having things set up next week.

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
October is coming way too fast for me! I've bought all of her clothes, but haven't washed any of them. I just realized our infant car seat is expired so I have to find a new one.
I still haven't bought all of my home birth supllies. My home visit is in 3 weeks and I have nothing, none of the chux, pads, birthing pool, etc. My midwife is gonna yell at me

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
31 days....more of less. I can't believe it.
we are having some issues with our landlord about repairs to our apt so we haven't been able to do the room/nursery yet. but, Newton has a place to sleep, a car seat with a stroller frame to get around in, and all the washing from the shower has been done, so that is a relief.
I am 35 weeks, 4 days today and have my next appt that starts my weekly appts next Friday. she didn't mention anything to me last friday about any progession so I assume I am closed up for the time being.
growth sono will probably be some time in the next2 or so weeks...cannot WAIT to see the Newts (though I am also terrified )
labor and its aftermath has been filling my head more and more these days. I just can't wait for that part to be over.
the baby is moving around still like a champion. sometimes I have to ASK my belly to stop (of course, it doesn't...stubborn like mama )
physically I am doing ok. so far no swelling to speak of...I am exhausted though from lack of sleep. I either pee like a bandshee or have the regularity of an old man with an enlarged prostate
boobs/nips are getting slightly more sore. heartburn/reflux is still pretty persistant despite the meds my doc put me on...but other than that I really can't complain.
all I really want is one night of sleep where I only wake up twice. even 3 times. just ONE before the baby comes. but it's not looking like I'll get it.
I can't believe it ladies...come Halloween...we'll all be mommies

im 35 weeks and time seems like its FLYING by! I went to l&d for pain and pressure 3 weeks ago and was already dilated 2cm and having contractions. they gave me fluids and contractions stopped but my dr put me on bedrest (happened the first week and a half but ive been very bad following orders)
Ive bene having biophysical sonos weekly and growth sonos every other week. i love seeing my little guy ....
I had a wonderful shower and received soo many great gifts! All his clothes are washed (by my wonderful mother!!) we are finally starting to empty the spare room, picked colors for the walls and a theme.
We did the hospital tour last week and boy that was a SHOCKER - it really sank in my little man is almost here!
I would love to be done within the next 2 weeks or so, my peri doesnt think ill make it anywhere my due date bc little guy is so low and ive been dilated - well see! would love to meet him soon but i really need to get his nursery finished!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, and I'm so ready for the baby to be born. Physically, I'm done! It hurts to bend, sit, lie down-- I simply can't get comfortable! Emotions are running wild, and I'm a mix of excited, anxious, and exhausted. We still have a few things to do before the arrival of our . Namely, washing her clothes, setting her crib up and installing the car seat.
Here's hoping the next 3 weeks fly by OR that our daughter arrives early!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
I was 36 w yesterday and I can't believe it!
Last week we bought diapers, all of the clothes are washed, the nursery is organized, and I'm starting to get items together for my hospital bag (although I hope not to use them too soon!)
I'm considering stopping work about 1.5 weeks earlier than I originally thought as it will not impact my maternity leave, but I'm not sure.
I have trouble sleeping at night and a little swelling of the feet. Other than that, this has been a great pregnancy and I hope I am as lucky the next time!
Good luck to everyone!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
Hey everyone!! I cannot believe next month is our month! Feels like just yesterday I saw that stick say positive!! I have nothing ready. The room is painted, we are not picking up the furniture until she is born so that will be set up while I am in the hospital. My shower is Sunday..cannot wait!
We had our growth sono this past week. That baby is measuring in at 5 pds (i'm 33 weeks). The dr said we are looking at a high 8-9pd baby Been having terrible stretch pains the past two weeks and been very uncomfortable. Thankfully, the weather is no longer hot and muggy!

Re: Official October 2009 Mommies to be thread!
I can't believe I only have 5 wks and 4 days left!
My shower was yesterday, and unfortunately it really did shower! But luckily the heavy rain held out until the evening when the shower was winding down anyway. It was held in my parent's backyard, so we tented the whole area.
I was on my feet from 10 AM helping to set-up up until I cut the cake around 7 PM. But it was worth it - it was wonderful to see so many friends and family and everyone was generous. We got lots of cute baby clothes, so I am really glad that (1) I held out on buying any and (2) I did not register for any. I hope to post picks soon - my mom did a wonderful job with the favors and duck theme and my MIL did a great job with the cake and centerpieces.
I still have a lot to do to get ready so I am giving myself a deadline of Oct 1st - the date I am full term.
I need to: 1) finish setting up the crib 2) install the car seat 3) find a ped 4) interview doulas (or just use Nadia's rec!) 5) go on hospital tour (on 9/19) 6) wash baby clothes 7) write birth plan 8) pack hospital bag - so I need to buy nursing bras
Lots to do, so I am leaning on DH a ton and I hope that with his hectic work schedule, he doesn't burn out on me!
