Hey girls, I am checking in! Sorry I haven't written yet. After a miscarriage last year I am so hesitant to get excited yet - ughh. But we saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks and all is going well! I am almost to 9 weeks, I feel like time is flying already! I have another appt tomorrow!
I am feeling ok despite my bad heartburn. I was hungry hungry hungry until this damn heartburn set in and now it is making me ill. I have thrown up twice at night. Yeah night is the WORST. It is not ms but just heartburn and yucky feeling in my belly. UGH. But I am trying not to complain too much…yet!
awww that sucks you've been throwing up! I had that yucky feeling in my belly last week when I had thai food....I just bought some maternity teas from Babies R Us yesterday and one is specifically for heartburn, so maybe it's worth a try if it helps you! I also bought the preggo pops and the Belly Bar chewy candies, OMG they are SO good!! I am going to go back and buy another 4 bags

I think we may spill the beans to the extended family this weekend. I'll be 10 wks and on the fence about telling them but my MIL is putting pressure on us because we're all seeing eachother. So far we've only told our parents and siblings and asked them to keep it a secret until Easter when we're in the 2nd trimester.

I have to say thank GOD for all of you fellow October mommies you make me feel so much better about having a little baby bump, I've been feeling like such a piggy!
That being said, did any of you exercise pre-pregnancy and if not are you going to try picking up light exercise to maintain your weight while pregnant? I told DH I want to do light cardio (like using the Wii Fit), but he wants me to stick with walking only on the treadmill (I actually think it's kind of cute he's so concerned!). I figured if I start some form of exercise it might help me have a little energy (that is if I can just get the energy to actually exercise!!!

i tried to get to the gym 3 times a week before getting pregnant. I haven't gone since December though being paranoid and all, i plan to return in the 2nd trimester. i plan to just walk on treadmill and maybe light weights for arms.

I didn't work out before so I'm nervous to work out now. My doctor said it's ok to work out but I'm still scared. I bought a prenatal workout DVD, we'll see how that goes. I'm looking into joining a prenatal yoga class when I'm in my 2nd trimester

I used to wake up early in the morning and work out before work but these days i don't have any energy to wake up that early. Once I get over the exhausted stage of pregnancy, i'll probably start working out again.
One thing that worries me is that these days, i'm all out of breath just walking up one flight of stairs! Not sure what actual exercise will do to me

I didn;t exercise much prior but I want to stay active with my pregnancy. now that the weather is nice, I take a half hour walk during my lunch break. I also want to take my DD out for long walks in the evening - but right now, I am soooo tired that all i want to do when i get home is sleep! Hopefully, i will get more energy soon.

that is SO cute!!! sucks that my EDD is at the very end of the month so with my luck I'll either be in labor on Halloween or bringing LO home ON Halloween (and dodging the egg tossing punks in the neighborhood!

I was going to the gym and also running pre pregnancy but now I consider myself active if I work up enough energy to vacuum or take a walk. I've been so exhausted! I'm hoping that by my 2nd tri I'll be able to get into some sort of routine of at least walking on the treadmill.
Actually I went to the dr yest and at 9.5 weeks I still am exactly at my pre pregnancy weight which I was surprised about since I've been so lazy. I guess it's because I've been so nauseous and haven't had much of an appetite. My belly is definitely bigger tho so maybe I lost some weight from the rest if my body?

Just checking in to see how everyone is feeling....
now that I am 6 weeks along, I am constantly feeling the urge to puke! It's horrible! And to make it worse, I am always hungry and I crave the strangest things. i made poor DH go out at 11:00 Friday night to get me a large order to Boston Market mac n cheese!
hope everyone is doing well!

That stinks - i hope you start feeling better soon!
I've been feeling pretty good for the most part. This weekend, I ate non-stop though so now i'm feeling a bit disgusting, not to mention fat.
LO is the size of a grape today - I can't believe he/she is so big already!

I'm the same way. I sit on the couch ALL day because I've felt so sick. I've never felt so lazy in my life. I was down a pound at my doctor's appt last week which I thought was strange because when I'm not feeling sick I make awful food choices plus I am starting to show. I found a prenatal yoga class that doesn't start until next month so I'm hoping that I'll be feeling better because I'll be in my 2nd trimester.

Re: ***Official OCTOBER 2012 Mommy to be thread!!****
i want to comment on everything... -my due date isn't til a week before halloween (my 32nd bday btw ) so who knows if i'll even HAVE LO by then, or if i'll be in the hospital etc. i'm thinking that 2013 might be LO's first 'real' halloween
- pre-pregnancy i worked out 5x a week. i KNOW my last miscarriage had nothing to do with working out, logically, but i'll never forget after i miscarried someone said to me "maybe you shouldn't have been working out" and it just stays in the back of my mind and torments me. my doctor told me that any work out routine you were used to prior to pregnancy, is fine to continue, but not to try anything new once you're pregnant. but i get such anxiety over working out, yet i feel like such a fatty fat not doing anything and my eating habits have gone down the drain the first few weeks i didn't work out at all, bc i was just too tired after work. now i've been trying to do 30min on the elliptical and some arm weights 3x a week. better than nothing i guess.
- i don't think i have a "bump" i just feel like i'm getting rounder i don't know if it's from not working out/doing ab work, my eating habits now or just from being pregnant. i'm only 8 weeks i'm nauseous like 75% of the day. some days it just lingers, other days it's that constant watery-mouth feeling like i'm about to throw up, but never do. it's always there somehow and i have to have food in my stomach to make it less. i don't necessarily have "cravings" but i'm very specific about what i want to eat. some days something will sound good, the next day the thought of it makes me want to vomit. it's so weird.
is anyone having anxiety over a registry yet? i know it's so early, but i'm so overwhelmed and anxious bc i know NOTHING about baby items and don't know how you decide on all of these things, and what you really need etc.

I used a book called bridal bargains when I planned my wedding. They have another book out called baby bargains. I bought that on my nook and it has some good information there. I'm not really sure when to register though.

10wks here too. I feel so bloated and fat. I got my hair cut to make myself feel better. And since the weather was really nice to day I went for a walk. Felt really nice to be outside in spring like weather.

The last few days I was feeling relatively ok, but today the full blown headache/migraine seems to have returned (I had one for like a week straight!). I wonder if I should be worried, I'm feeling a lot of pressure behind my left eye and the headache is more dominant on the left side....I've also had ear issues on my left side only off & on for like 3-4 months (I went to an ENT doc for that who didn't help much). I'm going back to the ear doc on Monday but I wonder if I'd be allowed to have an xray to get a better look at what's going on? I have sinus issues normally, so I've been taking zyrtec since the OB doc okayed it last week (so for the past 5 days). I hope I wake up and this horrible headache is gone!!!

I cannot believe someone would say that to you about working out and the m/c!!! how rude!!!! I too thought of all these things and asked my doctor if it could have caused my m/c and she kept reassuring me and saying I shouldn't blame myself. But for someone to come out and suggest that to you?? the nerve!!! I actually just exercised for the first time this pregnancy on Saturday and I'm still hurting (and I only did light cardio!! lol)
As far as being specific about what you want to eat I go through the same thing, like anything too dry makes me want to gag, and lately it's like I could eat cereal night & day b/c I know it doesn't give me that gross dry mouth feeling.
I am very indecisive so I will probably start researching registry stuff when I'm out of the first trimester. I just hope nothing is discontinued by the time my shower rolls around! Speaking of showers, my MIL already started talking about it last night after we gave them the news, like "yayyy we get to plan a shower" I really wanted to tell her "um no I'll plan it and send you an invite!" and then she went to pat my tummy!!!!! are you kidding me lady I'm only 7 weeks and I am not a person who likes to be touched, omg I am going to have such a hard time w/ fending people off I just can't stand when they come at you, hand outstretched like it's a free for all and everyone can line up for a rub, I'm not on display people!! (it's fair to say I am feeling very bitchy & hormonal today, I've been dropping F bombs to DH from the minute I came home from work tonight!
