The owner of the house is a propane sales person. He knew what the smell was & was able to get out. When the interviewed him this morning he admitted that had it happened in the middle of the night when they were asleep they may not have gotten out in time.

thats scary. the guy downstairs from me had a gas leak. no one knew until we went down stairs n smell it good thing we did because something bad could of happend

Sooo scary! The whole neighborhood smelled like gas and smoke! The even crazier part about it is that the same thing happened one block over from the this explosion when I was a kid, maybe 16 years ago!

I was wondering what was going on last night- I heard TONS of sirens on my way back from church in Amityville Village (I was walking)
