Oh boy! I've created a monster!
A shopping monster! She now uses one of her memory game cards as her credit card and expects me to "run" it through the keyboard while she "signs" her name on a piece of paper!

That is so funny! When I was three I asked for an American Express Card for Christmas... bug family joke... and now I am petrified of credit card debt... so there is hope!

Haha, my 2-year-old DS does the same thing... if he picks up one of those cardboard inserts that fall out of magazines, he "swipes" it between the sofa cushions and calls it "money".
Also, if you ask him what people do when they go to the bank, he says "buy money". I love his financial ideas

My kids love playing store and such, so I got them a cash register that actually has a scanner that will "read" any bar code (it's not accurate, but it does give a random price for eachh bar code) and it has a slot on the cash register for swiping the cc - and it says "credit approved" - which now have become Lauren's favorite words!

I got it two years ago when my son was 2, and its still played with today - by both of them! I got it at Lillian Vernon, and I did a quick scan of the site and couldn't find it, but I found it here on ebay (sold out, but I am sure you can find it somewhere). Best money on a play toy I ever spent!

It comes in pink too!

ETA: I paid less than $20 for it from Lillian

Re: Oh boy! I've created a monster!
I just have to add that I looked forever for this register when my son was two because he was addicted to the self check "price check" things in stores like Target. That's why I had to find one with a scanner that read bar codes. This was the BEST!! Both my kids are still obsessed with price checking things in stores!
