If anyone can juggle it all, it's you. Chat Icon It may take a little while to get adjusted, but I'm sure you'll all be fine before you know it. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Ok, I admit it, I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Oh Beth, it will be ok I promise. You've been there before, and in a much less family friendly situation.

When I went back after my second, I too had such mixed emotions (I had been home a year). On top of that, I think my husband had more anxiety than I did. He really wanted me to resign.

Six years later (my little one just turned 7), I can honestly say it was the best decision for both me and my family. I know our work environments are very similar and in my heart of hearts, I truly believe this is the best decision for you and your family. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I think the anticipation is sometimes the worst part. It will probably be difficult in the beginning, but I'm sure you'll do great at balancing everything. Good luck!

Beth,

Going from one to two can be difficult but she will do fine and have her big sister near by to check on her. I like to pretend that my daughter checked on my little man (I know she didn't really but it made me feel better).

You will be fine!! You are a strong woman who is setting an AMAZING example for your girls of what a strong woman is!!!

Breathe!!!! We are all here to support you!!!! FM me if you need anything!

I found that the anticipation of going back was much worse than actually going back.

Re: Ok, I admit it, I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Take a deep breath.

DS will be fine at daycare....it is soooo hard. But you know what? Daycare did wonderful things for my DD. I lost my job and am therefore home, but I wish I could put her in part time, just so she can continue learning and socializing like she was before.

Work....you take on this new position. It will give you a lot to think about while you are at work, so you won't be worrying about DS every second. And worse comes to worse, you take your old position back if it doesn't work out.

I am sorry about your father. Chat Icon Think of how proud he would be to see his daughter doing it all. Getting a promotion and being a GREAT mother!

You will be overwhelmed at first. But you will get into a routine and things will fall into place. Trust me. It will happen.

Re: Ok, I admit it, I'm feeling overwhelmed.

I too went back to a new position... granted also with a new company b/c my pre-maternity leave job was dissolved along with my entire division.

Once you get back into the swing, you'll get into a routine again. It'll be different than your old one, but it'll work out. I like to think it's true that we are not tested beyond what we can handle.

Re: Ok, I admit it, I'm feeling overwhelmed.

I hope this will make you feel a little better, from one Beth to another... Chat Icon

My DD started daycare in August when I went back to my teaching position--she was 8 months old at the time. I was a WRECK.

Fast forward to December: I actually wound up leaving my job--I was transferred to a new school and it was the WORST scenario possible for me. All in all, I decided it was best to leave, since more than 1/2 of my salary was going to pay for DD's daycare anyway...

Well, I actually felt REALLY bad pulling DD out of daycare because she loved it so much. She truly thrived there--the teachers were all so wonderful, I got daily reports of all the wonderful stuff they were doing with her during the day and they would even send me pictures of her doing crafts, reading, etc.

It will be hard in the beginning, but I'm sure you know that already. Just know that after awhile, everything will fall into place and Yael will do wonderfully in daycare. She'll be with other kids her own age every day and she'll make lots of friends Chat Icon I actually feel guilty that Ryleigh doesn't get to go anymore Chat Icon

You'll both be ok, promise! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Everything will be OK. You have every right to feel overwhelmed.

My father died 2 1/2 years ago. I was a mess at the one year anniversary without being pregnant, having a baby, or having a new job......

Allow yourself these feelings, thought it sounds like you are!

It will be OK. And while I'm very new at the mom thing, I really unfortunately know what its like to deal with loss and grief, if you need to talk on that end, FM me anytime.

Of COURSE its going to be ok! You are a survivor Beth. Change is not always easy, but give it time. I am sure you will settle into everything beautifully.

I'm sorry about the anniversary tomorrow. Sometimes I think that the first year is the hardest, and you made it through!
