maybe now that I've broken the ice it'll be different. You have to understand, it is hard for some people (I know for me it is) to just jump into a conversation when no one knows who you are. I'm a very friendly person but I know even in the non-message board world I'm not necessarily one who would just join in to someone elses group and start a conversation. Maybe that has something to do with it as well. We all have to start somewhere I guess.

I def. agree with you. I don't know if I didn't have my girls on here that I would have necessarily joined. That def. helped the situation.
ETA: Thank god I did have them for my first post since RED started a fight with me on it!

looking back on LIW i am not sure how i made it thus far
i swore after my wedding that would be the end

But i guess introducing yourself and jumping right in may just be the way to go

I get that... I lurked on LIW for quite a while before posting. Coming here was easy because I'd been on LIW for almost a year at that point and "knew" a lot of people.

Interrogate away, at least know I feel like I know at least you guys now.
I have my opinions on people. I can't say that I have people who I don't like. It is more that I have people whose stories I follow more often because I remember them from the LIW days or just have seen them around on LIF. It is nice to see the girls who have the struggles (whether it be with infertility, home buying, pets, jobs, relationships) and how they overcome those obstacles. And then see how the other girls really pull through for them. I probably follow those stories more often then others. I just think you are a nice and level headed (for the most part) bunch of people that I probably have more in common with than I think.

I can totally understand where you are coming from lbelle821! When I first joined LIW I came over from the knot... it seemed like everyone already knew eachother and it was awkward posting at first. I lurked for a few months before I posted!~ But once I started I couldn't stop
To answer the original question... I know some people lurk to spy on people. People that I know have admitted this to me (both on here and liw)

thanks girls. And Julz, you are definately one of the people that I remember from the LIW days because I used to really enjoy seeing all the pics of how you guys bought that house and totally redid the whole thing. It was awesome and you did a really fantastic job. That is one of the things that I always probably wanted to say but didn't. SO I guess that is an example of why lurkers freak people out. I can see someone saying that to me and totally feeling weird about it because up until now you never even knew I existed. So girls, point taken, and I apologize for freaking anyone out.

My stance on lurkers is...a lot of people post deeply personal stuff on here. And I know it's a public board. But I feel like if you post once in awhile, even if you don't post a lot, if you just introduce yourself, then it's like, you're part of the community, we know you're there, etc. You don't hav e to participate at a high level, but at least say you're here
