thats what i meant. i was just curious if he was over 21 or not.
Yeah... he was 18. I'm sure IF he had survived the accident, there would have been consequences if he had alcohol in his system, but unfortunately he died and one of his passengers.

The more I think about this, I am starting to feel nothing but anger towards MTV.
Here they are exploiting these teen mothers for ratings at the expense of their children's safety. How, in good conscious, can these camera crews and other employees of the show just stand around and watch as this baby is put into dangerous situations. Granted, they are things that happen every day, but it's not every day that you have lots of other people standing around watching it happen. Could you honestly just watch as a child is about to fall off a bed? Or watch as a baby in the sink is starting to turn hot water on? I am just baffled at how the people working on the show can literally just stand there and watch, record it for a TV show and not step in to prevent this child from being potentially harmed.
What kind of support are these girls getting from MTV besides a paycheck? Are they providing them with parenting classes (for Farrah) or anger management classes (for Amber)? I understand that these girls don't have to do the show, that they are making money from it, but they probably feel as though they have no choice because it is helping them support their family.
I guess I am just taken back a little by the harsh comments towards Farrah. She is a child who had a baby. She comes from an absolutely insane mother. She needs help and millions of people are just watching her make mistakes week after week, making very harsh comments about her. I don't think it's too far from the truth to say that many moms on this site have made some of the same mistakes and received sympathy and virtual hugs after it. I think she may be missing a little bit of common sense, but if I was a teenager dealing with supporting myself, a baby, bills, and a crazy family, I would probably be royally screwing up too.
I would like to see more outrage at MTV for just sitting back and watching these things happen.
This is how I feel too.
Farrah is still a child herself IMO....and I feel badly for her and think she needs a lot of help, encouragement and guidance to become a good mom and work through her "stuff".
Farrah may be a child..but she chose to have a child. She chose to raise her and she chose to move out on her own. Maybe her family is crazy, but there are other services out there to help her. I'm not saying accidents don't happen, but she did catch the baby before she fell, then walk out of the room leaving her on the bed. Then she goes out in the pouring rain, brings nothing to cover the baby and no diapers. She borrows towels from a car wash and fashions them into a diaper. I feel bad she got scammed and I know what it feels like when you feel like everything in you life is going wrong. But, you have a child. It's time to grow up and do what you have to do. Sophia should be her #1 priority. It angers me because I've known too many people personally who have children too young and they don't take it seriously. She needs to be careful, people are seeing this show and forming opinions about her. This show just angers me. It glamorizes being a teen mom. And the camera men (if they were in the room) should have helped Sophia!! I was watching 18 kids and counting and the cameramen help them ALL THE TIME!!! A child is in danger..you help.
i agree with most of what Deeluvsvinny said. but i just wanted to add that she knows she is being filmed and watched and judged and still acts so wreckless with sophia's safety. i worry what would happen if she had no one watching her bc i think a person would be on their best behavior for the camera no...
with amber and gary, i'm just waiting for their little girl to drop the f bomb. knowing them they'd probably laugh about it.

She needs family that can be there for her.
Anyone know anything about sophia's dad's family? Do they know about sophia? Does Farrah prevent them from seeing her... do they want to see her?
Never heard about his parents wanting to see the baby but her parents forbid her to see him again after she got pregnant and then he got killed in a car accident before Sophia was born.

as i stated i can only base my opinion on what is presented to me.
i feel many people feel their right to be a parent is more important then the right of the child to be in a proper home. the girl can not give that to her child because she has no one to help her which she desperately needs help. adoption would be the wisest choice for her and when you have seen many cases just like this and see what the aftermath is then perhaps you wouldn't think i am overboard.
Edited part: I never said CPS should be involved because i do not think she is neglectful i just think she is incapable of raising her child under the circumstances she has been presented with. Now if I said differently i think then I can understand people thinking it was harsh.
i think adoption is too harsh, a parenting class would make so much more sense. too bad farrah doesn't seem to have much sense to enroll in one. her therapist should def. encourage it though!

Re: omg who is watching teen mom???
I watched it and like all CRINGED at Farrah n what happened to Sofia. I cld it too right before it happened.
Yes there is camera crew but they can't intervene.
The show is "true life" the real shiit that happens when u are 16/17/18 and a parent and it shows the good bad and the ugly! I commend most for being parents and trying as hard as they can.
Heck Even at 34 its hard!
I don't bash Mtv. I commend them on this show. Its a major eye opener for teens!
They have a show cld "True Life" with ppl on there who at times need help beyond help. No one says anything about that n how they aren't seeking help there.

Re: omg who is watching teen mom???
Um, has anyone considered the source? Does Farrah strike you all as the next Supreme Court Judge ??
Not only is she a kid, but she's a MORON !!!!
If it was a LIF Mom who told you that happened there would be a pity party and a coddle fest of what a good Mom she was and how she shouldn't beat herself up b/c accidents happen etc etc - Would we attack her? Of course not, b/c we all "know" each other here ........
This kid put her life on TV for all to see - People are going to judge and comment - it's like putting sh*t up on the celebrity board -

Re: omg who is watching teen mom???
I am really not trying to be cruel, everyone makes mistakes. My mom left me wondering outside with a pool and i climbed into it and luckily didn't drown. But she secured the pool after that happened and learned from her mistakes. This girl doesn't seem to get it.
I begin to wonder what people's views would be like if she forgets the kid in the car just like she forgot the kid in the hallway, the kid in the sink, the kid on the bed, the kid in a dark room, etc. I know that sounds harsh but you see where the trend is going with her.

Re: omg who is watching teen mom???
I feel bad for Farrah. I really think that since she moved out on her own, she has been really trying to do good by Sophia.
I dont think she ever really learned how to take care of a baby before. She is careless, but I dont think she means to be.
Im glad she is going to counseling because I really think her mom did MAJOR damage to her growing up.
I also think MTV probably purposely pick out times when she screws up to highlight. If someone followed me around all day, I'm sure there are times that people would too.

Re: omg who is watching teen mom???
I'm crashing here but I think that MTV is very selective with the parts of their lives that they edit into the show
Amber and Gary are always fighting and then going out to eat
Catelyn and her family are always made out to look like white trash
Farrah is always messing up - putting Sophia in a dangerous situation
And Maci - I don't know - they make her look pretty good.
I'm sure, like every new mother or father, all of them have had their oops moments. I think MTV is singling Farrah out to be the ultimate uncareful mom though.
I do feel bad for all of them though. What a tough situation to be in. I had to say the only part of the episode for me was when Farrah KEPT HER JACKET ON while taking her friend's jacket for Sophia so they could go into the car place in the rain. That to me was stupid.

I agree 100%
I also agree. And I have never watched a single episode of this show because I refuse to add to the ratings.

Re: omg who is watching teen mom???
Am I the only one who thinks that Catelynn and Tyler SHOULD have kept Carly because I think they'd do a helluva better job than Gary and Amber? I say it half-jokingly but those two are surprisingly "mature" and grounded for 2 teens from messed up backgrounds. I know Carly is very well-off with her adoptive family, but you get my drift.

I just won't watch this show.
It's babies we are talking about. Not older people, 23, 24, 25 with OCD or some weird phobia. Babies need care 24/7. They don't need to be exploited on MTV of all places.
