the girl is not prepared to take care of her child properly. Her family are loons she needs to realize she needs to be unselfish and put the baby up for adoption. There are plenty of stable families out there that can handle a child correctly unlike this child.
yea people make mistakes but based on character of what is shown on tv farrah she can't handle motherhood.
ummmm think this is a liiiiitttttle bit overboard. She does not need to put her child up for adoption, she needs guidence and normal, stable role models. She needs people she can look up to. She needs family that can be there for her.
ITA but didnt wanna be the one to start some controversy TWICE on this board

Anyone know anything about sophia's dad's family? Do they know about sophia? Does Farrah prevent them from seeing her... do they want to see her?

I'd like to know too. My heart broke for her when she was speaking to the therapist and I am glad she's in therapy.
My heart goes out to all of these young parents and what they are dealing with.
Tyler had me in tears over his DD and how he feels like he shouldn't be at parties etc b/c he should be taking care of her
I just wish Amber would take a good look at herself and get some help and anger managament. Their DD is so darn adorable
I think Maci is going to be fine. Her parents seem awesome and she seems like a great girl.

Since the beginning, AFAIK, there has been NO mention of Sophia's father and he is completely out of the picture. From what I can see/tell, it was his decision.

I'm pretty sure she said he died in a car accident

I think that is a very strong statement and I couldn't disagree more.
Granted, I fear for Sophia's safety at times and would like to see someone intervene or SOMETHING but this girl has no one and she obviously loves her DD immensely. The pedi's and tshirts and 1st b-day card

They did mention him last episode and she said he passed away before he even knew she was pregnant. I didn't see/hear the part about how though.

Ditto! I think that's a pretty harsh comment to make based on what we see on TV

Re: omg who is watching teen mom???
Sofias father died in a car accident from drinking and driving.
His mother supplied the vodka for her son and in turn was charged with providing a minor.
My understanding is that the grandparents which consist of the guys mom and her boyfriend are not stand up people and that is why they are not involved.

as i stated i can only base my opinion on what is presented to me.

Edited part: I never said CPS should be involved because i do not think she is neglectful i just think she is incapable of raising her child under the circumstances she has been presented with. Now if I said differently i think then I can understand people thinking it was harsh.

Actually, I read that his BAC was not above the legal limit.
The mother of the other boy killed in the crash was arrested for buying them alcohol, but it wasn't related to the crash.

Just because his BAC was under the legal limit doesnt that still mean he had alcohol in his system?
My correction with the mothers though.

That could mean that there was alcohol in his system, but the authorities said that alcohol was not to blame for the accident.... whether that was actually true or not.

On a complete side note to what everyone is talking about, reading that article, if the Underwood kid is Sophias dad, I think she looks like him.

wow, that makes no sense to me since legal drinking age is 21. it should be zero tolerance everywhere. sad.

What do you mean by zero tolerance? I understand that to mean that he would get in trouble for having any alcohol in his system. But since he died, how would zero tolerance work? Or maybe I just don't understand.

So you don't think she's neglecting her daughter, but you think she should give her up for adoption? Why exactly? Because she's struggling with school/work/bills, etc? Because she fell off the bed? I'm just not seeing why, if you DON'T think she was being neglectful, you think she's not fit to be a mother.
There are TONS of women who have been single moms, no help, little or no money, accidents with the kids, etc. who are wonderful mothers. And Farrah loves her daughter.
I think with some support and continued therapy, she will be a great mom.

Im a firm believer in love (along with food, shelter and clothing) is all you need to parent. If everytime a parent struggled or an accident happened we gave up our kids...imagine what the foster care system would actually look like.
