to be honest and this does concern me, biden also has a tendency to make comments that can be perceived as racist...I hope as VP he does watch what he says. He has to remember not to speak off the cuff anymore.

I personally think that the way she was treated from the moment she was announced VP canidate was DISGUSTING. The media was relentless in trying to dig up ANYTHING to cast a negative light on her.
Whether you agree with her policies or not, she was not treated the same as the others, and the media was more concerned about ANYTHING that could be construed as negative publicity for her, rather than report or investigate Obama's questionable relationships, which is INSANE to me... but that of course is just my opinion.
If I recall Obama was the target of the press at the beginning of his campaign. Just like Palin. His middle name, that he was a terrorist. Caricature of him and his wife on the front page as 2 terrorists with weapons. His association to a pastor.
Come on! The media has been dishing out on both side. Not just Sarah Palin.
But she did dig her own grave during interviews.
Whether this is true or not. It's over! She is back to Alaska.
I think obama has done quite well with the press and it seems to be continued considering Chris matthews, a journalist mind you, just said that "I want to do everything I can, to make this thing work, this new presidency work". I don't believe Palin said those things - but at this point does it really matter?
You mean Chris Mathews who was getting tingly feelings down his leg or was it up his leg for Obama...Rediculous
At least he admitted he is biased. Just wait until the Fairness Doctrine is reinstated - it will be a nightmare.
I am surprised about such a short memory about Obama and the press. His campaign when he was competing against Hilary was not all roses in the press. But whatever!

Re: Palin: does anyone else believe this?
I think Hillary got killed by the press - that was one of the main issues - Hillary and most of her supporters were complaining about their treatment. But honestly, how do you defend Chris Matthews and MSNBC when a statement like that is made?

I was not defending Chris Matthews at all. I was not even refering to that at all.
I was refering to Obama and his early bashing in his campaign. That has NOTHING to do with Chris Matthews.

smdlI totally agree with you. You know what is crazy about this is that the media is not doing this, the McCain aides are constantly calling them and dishing the dirt, heck if they want to air their dirty laundry will listen.
Bit I guess its easier for some to say oh that media won't leave her alone.
Heck Pailin's own people are throwing her under the straight talk express

obama had to keep Biden tucked away after he kept putting his foot in his mouth, but now that he is VP, he has to be released and he will soon be privy to more of his genius statements.
hey we all know Biden can be a loose cannon, but at least he has a basic working knowldedge of Geography.
I understand that Palin is an embarrassment for those that finally see her for what she is , just an ambitious, uneducated, uniformed woman in designer suits, so I understand why Republican or McCain supporters don't want to speak about her. I wouldn't either, I too would change the subject.
wow you would think she killed your dog or something.
No even worse she tried to assume one of the highest positions in our country when her own party and her own campaign knew she was ill prepared.
I mean think about it McCain's own people are saying she was not prepared, the same people that wanted, no practically begged us to vote for them.
Tha is some scary stuff. THANK GOD the majority of the american people didn't buy the lemon they were trying to sell us.
Nope, they the bought the lemon the other guy was trying to sell us.
I kid, I kid

why? I took it as when people say don't drink the kool aid, meaning, whatever they tell you, don't believe it too strongly - bill o'reilly always says this. It is a really common expression - surprised you have never heard it. Having "drunk the Kool-Aid" refers to being a strong or fervent believer in a particular philosophy or mission — wholeheartedly or blindly believing in its virtues.

I think the problem is that it has racist conotations, I am not saying that was the intent, but nonetheless its ofensive, but I say to each his own.

Re: Palin: does anyone else believe this?
wow - i didn't take that in that way AT ALL. I think Obama would be amused, actually probably a little disturbed, that people would take offense to other people using the phrase "don't drink the kool aid" or "you drank the kool aid" - very commonly used phrases no matter what race - when discussing Obama.
