wow - i didn't take that in that way AT ALL. I think Obama would be amused, actually probably a little disturbed, that people would take offense to other people using the phrase "don't drink the kool aid" or "you drank the kool aid" - very commonly used phrases no matter what race - when discussing Obama.
like I said... deedlebug hasn't had a very good track record this week... nothing would surprise me..
but I didn't take it THAT way either

why? I took it as when people say don't drink the kool aid, meaning, whatever they tell you, don't believe it too strongly - bill o'reilly always says this. It is a really common expression - surprised you have never heard it. Having "drunk the Kool-Aid" refers to being a strong or fervent believer in a particular philosophy or mission — wholeheartedly or blindly believing in its virtues.
honestly-- that's how I saw it too... but you know it *could* be misconstrued to mean something else... and lets face it... lately, deedlebug's track record has been less than stellar..

I can't believe everyone is still arguing about politics
Just ftr though, the expression "don't drink the kool-aid" comes from the Jonestown tragedy where all the cult members drank a kool-aid drink laced with poison in a suicide pact. Maybe everyone already knows this but...just though I'd share. Let's not read too much into everything

I'm not an "AA", but I am Hispanic, and a minority. Sorry, but it seems like you go out of your way to look for racist innuendos when there werent any intended in most instances. Is there a reason why?
