PCOS - Provera questions Cross-post
I had a baby in August; was actually pregnant w/ twins, but one passed away after delivery. Anyway, 4 months later, no period. The dr sent me for bloodwork and I was told I had PCOS based on my LH level and they recommended I go on birth control. First of all, can PCOS be diagnosed without a sono? Also, I do not want to go on birth control. I am taking Provera starting tomorrow, but the dr warned me that is a temporary fix. However, I do not want to waste months and months on the pill. The reason being is that I'm turning 37 next month and while the thought of being pregnant after what I went through is scary, if we do end up trying, it will be in the next few months. So to me, wouldn't going on the pill be as pointless if I were to go off it in a few months?
Sorry if I'm making no sense, but I don't know what to think now. Also, I apologize for posting here, I did not know where to post this.

Re: PCOS - Provera questions Cross-post
What CD did they test your levels on? CD3 or so? Or had you not had AF in a while? I would have them put you on provera and then test your levels again on CD3. I have PCOS- please FM me w/ any questions. I'm so sorry about your loss. ETA: You don't HAVE to go on the pill... you could track your cycle and if when CD28 or so comes, go in for bloodwork to see if you ovulated- if you haven't then have them put you on provera again and do 'controlled' cycles that way ---- I def. wouldn't go on BCPs!

Thank you for the reply, you are great! I might FM you tomorrow with more questions. I feel as if I'll get the "I told you so" attitude from the dr if the provera does not work. I just had the script filled!!
