Please read...I need some prayers and help/advice
I first have to appologize for this being so long.
I know I have never posted on here before but I do not know where else to turn. Last night while DH, DD and I were out my kitchen caught on fire...my dog jumped up onto the stove and turned the gas on. That lit the wall on fire and basically burned the entire kitchen. I guess because of the lack of oxygen in the house the fire put itself out but the house was completely filled with smoke. We came home to the house full of smoke. The fire dept came...both dogs (I had two) were found inside (they did not survive
I am beyond myself. I am 23 weeks pregnant and have a 24 month old DD. We are staying at my parents.
I was just wondering if anyone has been thru something similar? If anyone can tell me about restoration work, temporary housing, cleaning crew for all the smoke damage etc. My DH and I are devastated. He is there now with the insurance company, I am sure they can help us with answers as well.
I just want to thank you all in advance and any information would really help.

oh my gosh i am so sorry this happened to you and sorry for your dogs are there any family members that you could stay with in the meantime while everything w/ the insurance gets sorted out?

Im sorry for your loss and Im sorry that this has happened.
The insurance company will help you!
They can assist you with being placed in a hotel if needed and get a restoration company in there ASAP- ex: Servpro or Paul Davis. ( I have #'s if needed).

I have no advice but I am so sorry for the loss of your dogs and that you are going thru this. I think your insurance company will be able to provide the most answers for you.

My exH's house caught fire when DS just turned 4. I think your DD is too young to understand. you could just tell her the dogs moved and she should understand that. When I got divorced, DS was 2 and we told him it was someone elses turn to live in the house, so maybe you can tell DD that its someone elses turns to love/play with the dog.
As far as the fire goes, no advice on repairs. I'm glad it was contained to the kitchen.

I am so so sorry.
I know someone that had a house fire. Luckily they weren't at home when it happened either.
They stayed with their inlaws and basically had to throw almost all of their cloth furniture out and get all new clothing because they could not get the fumes out of their clothes.
They did re-do almost their entire house with the funds from the insurance company.
Do you have family you can stay with?

I'm sorry. Sad about the dogs I don't have any advice, but a friend of mine lost her kitchen to a fire as well and they were able to rebuild it, bigger and better! 
If you need anything in the mean time, I am sure I have a ton of extra kitchen essentials if you need them. Just say the word.

I don't have any ideas, other than saying that the insurance company will walk you through it, so don't worry about that, just take care of yourself.
