Potty Training Advice needed...
ok, Ali has been not having any accidents with #1 for over 2 weeks
But we are now having issues with her going #2 on the potty. This is the one thing we didn't have any issues with before, but then all of a sudden about a week ago, she has been going in her underwear. I don't know what to do. I don't want to put her back in pull-ups, cause I am afraid she is going to regress with #1....Please, please help

Have you tried having her 'help' you clean up the mess? I know it sounds gross but when Kaitee had an accident I had her take it to the bathroom (I didn't force her to, I just asked her too) and dump it in the toilet. She has only had 2 #2 accidents and both times I had her do this, I think it really helped her.

Re: Potty Training Advice needed...
This is a very common issue - we went through it too. I found the best thing to do was to not make a big deal out of it at all. I would clean it up, give her new undies and send her on her way. Of course, I still employed huge rewards for everytime she went #2 on the potty and would make a huge deal out of it. But let the accidents pass - she won't be doing it forever, I assure you, so just give her time, without any pressure, to come to it on her own.

Re: Potty Training Advice needed...
We bribed them. Told them if they went poos onn the potty they got a train. WEHen they had an acciodent it was no big deal but kept reminding them if they did they would get one. We also made the biggest deal when they actually did go, basically treated them like they split the atom and this really helped.

Re: Potty Training Advice needed...
Any more advice on this?
Sorry for the bump - but over the weekend, she didn't have any accidents with it - but then is having accidents again this week.
She freaks out when it is in her underwear though
Did it take your child a while to 'catch' onto the whole concept??
Thanks

Re: Potty Training Advice needed...
My DD went through a roller coaster ride when training for #2. At first she held it in for days, and then when I put a pull-up on her for bed, she would go in it. Then she got over that, and decided to just poop her underwear I didn't make a big deal about the accident - BUT I did make it a point to her that if she pooped in her underwear, it went in the garbage! NO way was I cleaning it! And she got the hint after 2 pairs of her favorite underwear went to the garbage!
She's been trained for 2 months now, and I will say that although there has been no recent accidents, she is still VERY tentative with going poops. She hates it, so she will hold off and wait to the very last minute, but manages to do fine!
