Potty training advice needed
So my 2 1/2 year old DD went at about 20 months now and then but just for fun - I never did it full force. Then we stopped trying, then started recently, then she wanted nothing to do with it again recently so I backed off.
Yesterday she showed interest again at my mom's, so I started today and said no more diapers, we are going to wear big girl panties, etc. This morning she didn't go for almost 4 hours. Then she went on the potty (one of the times I had her sit down) and was so excited, got jelly beans and a star on her chart towards a toy. Then later on, after sitting a few more times she peed on the floor while she was playing and said "oh no mommy". After that she went maybe 2 more times on the potty (again, I had her sit on it, she didn't request it) and then later on she peed when she got up from her nap, which I sort of expected.
Later tonight she peed a few more times on the potty, but those times she would start to go and yell oh no mommy I have to go pee pee and I'd run her to the potty so she just would finish there.
Is this the right way to do it? Do you think she is ready? I went through about 6 pairs of panties today for when she either peed or accidentally started before getting to the potty. Any advice is welcomed, thanks for reading!

Re: Potty training advice needed
In the beginning, you really need to put her on the potty every half hour or hour depending on how long she can hold it. She's not going to tell you she needs to go right away. She has to get used to stopping what she's doing to tell you. That was the toughest part for Ava. She always wanted to keep playing. Even at almost 3, I still have to ask Ava if she needs the potty every now and then because she'll forget to go for a few hours and when I ask her, she's like, "Oh wow, yeah, I do have to go". Other than that, sounds like it's going well! Good luck!

I haven't tried it yet, but I have friends who swear by the egg timer. Like the PP said, you can't wait for her to tell you she has to go, that just isn't going to happen right away. My friends say to get a little egg timer and set it for every 20-30 minutes. You make a potty game out of it and every time the bell goes off they have to sit on the potty. For each time they goo pee or poop they get some kind of reward (stickers, M&Ms, whatever.) They swear that if you can do it for a few days they will be completely trained. I plan on trying it while I'm off in the summer.

Re: Potty training advice needed
Thanks! I am going to stick with it. I think she'd still rather be in diapers but I know she can do it! Is it normal for her to resist a bit until I bribe her? Is that a sign she isn't ready? I think she isnt' into the interruptions.
I have little patience and always want immediate results so I'm trying really hard to stick with it and not just go back to diapers because that can set us back another few months.
Also, do you think I should do bare bottom or panties while training? Thanks again!
