Potty Training/Time Out Issue
DD is potty trained (for all intents and purposes). I just put her in time-out for throwing something DH told her to give me (she was also talking back and saying NO and running away to avoid giving me said item).
So, into time-out she goes, and she deliberately peed her pants.
What does one do with that? Do I put her back into time-out? Leave her in the wet underwear? DH thinks we should force her to walk around for the rest of the day with no underwear and no pants (we actually have to leave the house today).
She'll be three on Saturday.

Re: Potty Training/Time Out Issue
Do you think she might have peed in her pants cause she wasn't allowed to leave time out? How do you know it was deliberate?
Either way I would not make a big deal out of it cause if she did do it on purpose she probably wants to get a rise out of you and if she didn't then you don't want her to regress with the potty training. I would just say, it is NOT OK to pee in your pants when you are in time out.

if it was intentional, I wouldn't make a big deal of it, b/c then she gets what she wants...a reaction out of you. but, i'd make her clean it up while I tell her how gross it is!

Re: Potty Training/Time Out Issue
Don't make a big deal of it. Just let her know that she can go potty during a time-out. At first she may abuse it, saying she has to go when she doesn't, but that will end quickly. If she goes potty, then extend the time-out after the potty.

Re: Potty Training/Time Out Issue
Hmmmm...knowing Marianna as well as I do my guess is that she deliberately peed her pants. (Something we went through with Caden as well)
I would let it go this time...
But if a pattern of behavior develops you'll need to come up with a means of discipline. (either another time out or something similar)
The first time we ignored it and made a point of telling him that he could tell us if he had to go to the bathroom. The second time he did it he got a stern "lecture"...The third time he did it we put him in a pull up (Something he hates more than anything after being potty trained for almost a year)...He never did it again...

Agree with the others, I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. It's hard to say if this was an accident because she couldn't leave time out and was so upset, or done intentionally. I would just ask her to help clean up and let it go.

Re: Potty Training/Time Out Issue
My DS did that a few times, it was a very brief phase.
The first time I just changed him, told him never to do it again.
The second time I gave him another time out. He did it again, all over his bed. I changed his sheets, put him in a pull up. Made him sleep in the pull up... He never did it again.
