What do you use? I've been on prescription for a few weeks and HATE them! Sooo bloated and I secretly blame them for my double period this monthChat Icon

I'm on the target brand. I love them, the prescription ones made me sick.

Re: Prenatals: Presciption vs OTC

My dr told me that I could use regular vitamins until I get PG. I just take a multi but when I was pregnant before I went to OB I took CVS brand and never felt sick.

I use the Trader Joe's kind. They hardly taste of anything.

I never knew that they make you bloated.

I take Rainbow Light Prenatals. My OB recommended them while nursing my DD. I will switch to Rx after I am pregnant.

I'm taking the Rainbow Light ones also and I was thinking of switching to the prescription ones once I'm pregnant. Just wondering why you were switching? Did your dr. recommend that?

My Dr. prescribes the prenatal at the 1st appt. I think the Rx have a little more folic acid. I'm sure more OTC prenatals are just fine. Also the Rx I was on had a DHA supplement so I didn't have to worry about adding that in either.

Im on prescription ones, CitraNatal Assure. They have a stool softener in them so it helps a lot.

This is what I take and I have no problems at all. When I did take prescription prenatals, I took PreNate and I was always feeling craptastic!

I have been on these since being pregnant with DS. I stayed on them because of BFing. They were one of the few prenatals that didn't make me nauseous! The stool softener in them helps with the bloat. When I was TTC for DS I was only on Folic acid till I got pregnant.

Re: Prenatals: Presciption vs OTC

When I first got pregnant I was on the Women's One a day prenatals.

then I went to my first dr appt and he switched me to prescription. not sure why. Duet Heart.

So then after the mc he told me to keep taking the prescription ones.

But since I'm still TTC, I can't say I'm on point with taking them daily.... i try but i tend to forget a lot. I was A LOT better with them when I was pregnant.

I had asked my previous OB that question, he said that the level of the metals is not regulated in OTC prenatals.

I'm using the Vitafusion gummy ones from Target. My OB said they are fine. They are the only ones that don't make me totally nauseous!
