Re: PSA: Parents PLEASE get CPR certified

I'm so glad he is okay.
I was so nervous about my DS starting solid food I made my mom, mil and ex-h take a class before he started cherios.

And I hope its not too out of line but it just sounded funny to me when I read it - I don't think I've ever heard, "Thankfully he projectille vomited" before. I know it saved him.

Re: PSA: Parents PLEASE get CPR certified

I have this terrible fear of choking because when I was little my brother choked on a hot8dog and almost died.
I took a CPR class a while ago but I definietly need to brush up and research where I could take one over here. Glad your DS is ok, I know how scary that can beChat Icon

Try the Red Cross or ask at your ped office. Our ped had a nurse that did it at your house

Re: PSA: Parents PLEASE get CPR certified

Thank you all so very much for all of your thoughts and well wishes. It was an unbelievable event that I definitely don't want to go through again.

I have gotten quite a few requests since my post for classes. If everyone FM s me your info or emails me [email protected] I will coordinate classes for everyone.

CPR training has always been important in my line of work but never did I think I would need it for my own son. I would never want another parent to be unprepared should the same circumstance occur.

Be well Ladies!

ITA and am so happy that your DC is ok!

The other thing is that some of the techniques have been updated in recent years, so please renew your CPR training. DH had his training when we first met (over a decade ago) and he was so overly confident until I gave him a verbal pop quiz (particularly now that DS is mobile and eating finger foods) after I got my BLS-CPR recert (required for my job) and it was apparent that if God forbid something happened he really would not know what to do. So I am having him get recertified.

We have recently been through this ourselves, and it was the scariest moment ever. I still have nightmares about it.
