Question about follies
As you all pretty much know, I am new to all of this and this is my first month with fertility treatments. I just took my last day of clomid today (those hot flashes were a killer) and I go in for bloodwork and sono the morning of christmas eve. What should I expect? How many follicles do they like to see for someone having an IUI and what are the preferred sizes of them? Thanks!

Re: Question about follies
My first month, I ended up going in a few days after I finished my last pill, and we didn't see much. There were some small sized follicles, and they asked me to come back a few days after that. This was at 50mg of Clomid, and it wasn't until a few days after that we started to see one follicle growing above others. When I was on 100mg of Clomid, there were two good sized follicles and when they got to the right size, we triggered and then
Hope this is your cycle!
If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out. I was overwhelmed going through my first cycle.

Thank you so much for the info, and thanks for offering me such support that really means a lot to me. Going through this is such a roller coaster of emotions and its so so nice to know that I have you ladies to turn to who actually understand what it's like!

Re: Question about follies
I usually ovulated around normal time with Clomid cycles. I'd say they like to see somewhere between 2-4 follicles, depending on Dx (some take Clomid to make them ovulate, some take it to create more than one "target") but more than 4 mature follies would probably make the docs nervous about multiples. Mature is usually in the 16mm-24mm range. Everyone responds differently. GL

Yes my RE said that since I do ovulate on my own we're doing the clomid to increase the chances that one of the eggs will fertilize. Thanks for the info!
