I have been to a few PA weddings (I went to school in York and many of my sorority sisters lived in PA) and everyone one of them was a cash bar. When they came to my wedding they were amazed that I was paying for all the drinks!!
Maybe I should have extra cash on me...just in case
i would....but on the upside...the drinks will be 1/2 or less than what we pay in NY!!
Haaa! Thats a great way of thinking of it!

Re: Question about weddings in PA
Most weddings outside NY do the entree thing. My DH was surprised when we were planning our wedding that I did not include this (he is a PA boy)
I think it depends where you are going in PA. If you are in Philly it's one thing.

if you look on their website under "wedding packages" it says that top shelf open bar is included... and it also has the coctail hour menu... looks pretty close to a NY menu to me

Don't be sorry..I appreciate your help. I don't think the quality of OOS weddings are different, possibly just the order of things and overall experience. Thats why I was questioning it. Some of the girls were saying that there is no dancing until the meal is finished. Now, I would be the only schmuck up there had I not asked. LOL. Thanks again for your help!

Re: Question about weddings in PA
went to one in Harrisburg.....entree choice was on RSVP.
It was an open bar but the whole "aura" of the wedding was more casual than a NY Wedding

Re: Question about weddings in PA
I went to a very casual wedding in PA.
It was in a firehouse.
