My parents always took me out to dinner with them - we went everywhere from places like Fridays and dalts to the top restaurants in NYC like the 4 seasons, etc. We mostly went to nicer places than chain restaurants though. My parents felt strongly that it was important for me to be used to going out to restaurants esp nice ones so they made every effort to take me - don't get me wrong they did go out without me for special occasions but they took me more often than left me at home. I was in some of the top restaurants in NYC before age 5.

I would say as a very young child, not too often...special dinners, maybe 2-3 times a year. Fast food once every 6 months...maybe.

As we got a little older pizza ordered in every Friday and we would go out probably 2 times a month, Chinese, Diner, Big Barry's, Friendly's, Red Lobster...nothing too exciting but it was always fun!!

Our big thing was Christmas dinner with my Dad's extended family...we'd get all dressed up and get to order Shirley Temples!

we went out all the time
at least 2-3 times a week, maybe more
and my mom also cooked dinner as well.

We did fast food, and places like fudruckers
Roy Rogers, and we used to go to this sit down chinese restaurant that was sooo good.
Oh and diners, we loved going to diners on the weekends.

our family ritual while growing up was every Saturday we would go out for dinner, usually to a Diner.

after school plays, recitals, etc, we got taken out to Friendly's.

My mother never cooked on Saturdays so we either went out to eat or ordered food in. I would guess that we went out about 2-3 times a month. We didn't really go out anywhere too fancy mostly diners, Italian restaurants, Ground Round, Friendlys, etc.

As a kid we almost never went out to eat. On a very rare occasion, we'd go out to an Italian restaurant or a pub type place for dinner (on someone's bday or something like that.. so a couple of times a year). Also very rarely would be order pizza or get fast food (probably like once a year, if that). My mom cooked dinner just about every single night. Back then I ate very healthy!

We ate alot b/c my parents travelled with us for their business...but Friday nights we used East Bay Diner in Merrick (Racheeeee remember that?), Beefsteak Charlies, Italian after we broke down the booth at Roosevelt Raceway Flea Market, Seven Seas Diner on Northern...

They would go out with their friends too, but we always went out as a family.

We really didn't go out much. If anything, we went to Friendly's. We were more likely to get take-out from somewhere though and eat it at home.

We went out for dinner a lot, which is why I think I now have difficulty cooking more than 3 nights in a row! We went to diners a lot, and even for fast food. I remember a period of time where we ate at Roy Rogers once per week, and my mom used to take me to McDonalds every Saturday to collect the happy meal toys. We also ordered in chinese and pizza every once in awhile.

We went to Roy Roger's once a week! Loved it! We did places like Pizza Hut occasionally, and there was a diner place called the Parfait House where we used to go...I had a birthday party there.

almost never! we had very little money when i was younger. my parents saved a lot to buy a house when i was 9 (my younger sisters were 6 and 4).

mcdonald's once in a while after our gymnastics class was a special treat. we probably didn't go out to dinner with my parents on a semi-regular basis until i was in high school.

We NEVER went out to eat as kids.. NEVER. My parents are germophobes & tried their hardest not to eat anything that is prepared by other people.
My mom cooked every single meal on a daily basis as a kid. Granted, she was a housewife so she had the ability to do that.

I try to cook as much as possible so we don't have to go out.

Pretty often .. every friday, some sat's and sundays. My mom is a great cook but my dad lloves to eat out. We would go to all different places. A lot of places in Brooklyn bc family lived there..mostly Italian, some chinese...Beefsteak Charlie's was my dad's fav IHOP too~My dad would also take us to really nice places, still does. Especially as we got a little older...he loves going out to eat at nice places.

We used to go out to eat once a week (on Wednesdays after girl scouts).

If it was just my mom and I (dad was at work) we'd go to places like Friendly's, Ground Round or Swensens (my mom always let me pick if it was just the two of us). If dad was around, we'd go someplace nicer - for Italian or Seafood...

We went out to dinner at least once a month I'd say.. my parents are big food people and love to try new restaurants so we went a lot.

We went out sort of a lot I think, b/c my dad likes to, but we almost always went to Friendly's ($2 kids meals at the time I think, or kids eat free, or something) or a local place that was right by our house....VERY RARELY did we go anywhere else. Oh and we always went to the diner for sunday brunch

For special occasions my parents would take us to McDonalds. We never went out to restaurants because my father doesn't eat food that my mother didn't cook.

My parent's rarely went out to eat, when they did they usually took us along. BUT, my grandparents took my brother and I out to eat every Friday night. We went everywhere from Roy Rogers to the kosher deli.

It had to be a super special occasion for us to see the inside of a McDonald's. I remember thinking that getting to have a TV dinner for lunch was a treat.

my parents took my sister and I out often. It ranged from McDonalds to fancy resturants. It was great because it taught us good table manners and how to act in a resturant.
