Question for moms from a mom to be
I am 35W1D. I went to the DR today and I am already 2-3 cm dilated. My question is if you remember, how early did you start to dilate this far. I am just trying not to panic but the Dr. said there is a good chance I will be having the baby soon or within the next two weeks. I would only be 37 weeks at that time. TIA

I was 2.5 cm. dilated by 38 weeks I think, but it didn't budge from there. I wound up needing an induction.
It's hard to say. I guess generally people do progress once they start dilating, but it doesn't always mean the baby will be here soon.

37 weeks is full term so you'd be good to go. Even if you went into labor now, they wouldn't stop it. At least I dont; think so.
I only went a few days early. I actually was 3 cm at 37 weeks but stayed that way for just shy of 3 weeks. I ended up going 4 days before my EDD. I honeslty dont; see you goign to your EDD. The odds are really low and your dr. would never let you go then anyway b/c your cervix is too ripe. He'll definitely make you wait 2-3 weeks though. It could be tonight that you begin labor or the end of this month. Only the baby knows.
However, I do have friends that have dialated at 36 weeks and had the baby at 37.
You and baby will be fine. You must have been in shock to find out the news today!

I didn't really dilate until I was in labor. I gave birth that day.

At my 35 week appointment I was 1cm.
36 weeks I was 2-3. My water broke at 37 weeks and when I was checked in the hospital I will still 2-3.

They didnt check me for dialation until 36 weeks i think and I was 1cm... no worries...i was induced at 38 weeks (2cm) and all was fine. You could be dialated that much for weeks...
what matters is your dialation + effacement (the thinness of your cervix). Dialation alone doesnt determine when that baby is going to come out

at my first internal I think I was 1 cm/90% effaced, then a week later I was 2cm/100% effaced and my doctor said that I wouldnt make it to my due date... anyways, I had my baby a day late... so sometimes you just never know

At 36 weeks with my 3rd baby I was 1 cm. She was 6 days late!
