Questions re: rice cereal
I want to buy rice cereal just in case I decide to start it soon. I've seen regular (white) rice cereal, brown rice cereal and whole grain rice cereal. Is one better to start with than the other?
How did DC do with rice cereal? When you first prepared it, did you make it very soupy? When did you start making it thicker?

We just started DD on rice cereal last week. We bought the regular Gerber rice cereal. I like the idea of the whole grain, but I didn't know if it would be too harsh on her tummy. No DHA added, nothing funky like that.
The first time I made it, I made it very soupy. She really liked it. I also find she likes it much better when I prepare it with water or BM--she doesn't seem to like it with formula 
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you have the camera and video camera ready, it's a trip!

We started with Gerber Rice cereal ~ Single Grain. (I would be careful with the multigrain or whole grain ~ it might be harder to digest)

we use the regular Gerber or Beech Nut Rice Cereal (I guess its white). DS loves it. We used to make it soupy but since getting the offical green light from our ped, we give him it thicker and twice a day. (he was drinking too much). He loves it!!

my dr said i could actually start either rice OR oatmeal, i went with oatmeal because she already only goes poopie every 3-4 days!!

We used Earths Best Organic Rice Cereal. Its important to me to use the simplest ingredients and Gerber adds too many additivies to their products - even the organic ones.

I also used Earth's best Organic. I wanted to introduce probiotics for my boys but couldn't find a dairy free one so when I was at the store yeterday I bought brown rice cereal with DHA and probiotic-we'll see how it works.

I had wanted to use organic, but it looks like they only have organic brown rice and whole grain rice cereal. Did your DC have any problems digesting the brown or whole grain rice cereal?

I only gave DD Earth's Best products. She never had any issues. I didn't give her the multi-grain cereal for quite sometime b/c Earth's Best was changing the packaging to be more eco-friendly and it was off the shelves for @ 3 months. Brown rice in general is healthier than white rice.
