Random Question...does your office supply tissues?
I got an email last night from an employee asking me to buy tissues for the office, and to get the really soft kind that doesn't rip apart your nose.
I wasn't sure what to say.
We supply toilet paper, paper towels, forks knives, spoons, sugar, coffee, and creamer.
Is this the owners responsibility as well?

We don't supply them.
I worked for a corporate office with about 500 employees and they didn't supply either.

I always had tissue boxes supplied at the office wherever I worked (both small companies and large international ones). I couldn't request which type though.

I've never worked anywhere that supplied tissues. MAYBE there would be a box in the bathroom, but usually not. I think the bathrooms on conference room floors have tissues at my current office (b/c we have guests, clients, etc. there). The regular office floors do not... unless I've just never noticed them.
I keep my own tissues in my office - and I sure don't expect my office to take any sort of directive from ME as to what type of tissues I would want...

IMO - that's ballsy.
I wouldn't know how to answer. Maybe just say 'we don't supply tissues anymore due to a theft problem'.

current office: yes, but this is the 1st office that has. I would never EXPECT them to provide them for us though.
This can not be a requirement of employers

Mine supplies tissues. They have small boxes of Kleenex. I think it is a little weird to ask for a specific kind...

At my current job, no. But they did at my last job. I think it's kinda ballsy to specify the type that they wanted.

We have tissues, but they are the scratchy type. If I have a cold, I bring in my own. We only buy them because we have customers in our offices all the time. They are really for the customers.

No. Never.
And, no forks, knives, spoons.
We get paper towels (most of the time), coffee, tea, sugar, artificial sweetener, coffee stirrers, and filtered water. ETA: lots of milk (skim and whole).
200 person office of a very large company.

Do you work for a small company? If you do the shopping for the office, maybe ask if that's something you can add.
I buy my own box for my office.
