Returning a Leased Car

I admit, I am a slob.....bags of garbage, soda and water bottles, coffee spills, etc. I have to return my car at the end of the month, as it is leased. Do i need to clean it well, or since it is not really damage, just some spilled drinks, lots of random dirt, etc? Do I get charged for this?

Re: Returning a Leased Car

I just returned my car. It was very messy but I cleaned out the garbage before the inspection and didn't wash it again before returning it. You should be ok if you remove the garbage. They do allow for nor,al wear & tear and such. Did you have it inspected yet? If so you would get a bill that tells you if you need to pay anything.

Re: Returning a Leased Car

Every time I returned a car I made sure to clean out everything on the inside. I could care less what the outside looked like dirt wise. I would try to vacuum and clean up the best you can but normal wear and tear they wont get you on it is major things like scratches and dents they might get you on. I never encountered an issue with a return lease but I always cleaned the inside to the best of my ability.
