Re: Rude neighbor or justified?

20 yards is a LOT of mulch. Why didn't you have it delivered in your driveway?

Let me tell you I would like to think I live in a "nice" neighborhood. If I left 20 yards of mulch on the street, forget eight weeks I'd have people putting signs up after a few days. My neighbors would not tolerate that and it's pretty inconsiderate to leave that kind of mulch on the street.

I googled and this is what 20 yards of mulch looks like. That looks like a two car driveway.

My neighbor is a landscaper and he parks his truck behind my fence. He had mulch in his truck and it stunk!! But it was just there over night. I would be annoyed by a pile of stinky mulch.

Your neighbor didn't handle it properly though. **** move to put the sign there.

If I were you, I would try to get rid of it if you really have nowhere to put it.

Rude neighbor or justified?

Now that I see what 20 yards of mulch is- I kind os see why your neighbors would be peeved. That's ALOT of mulch to have in the street! Still don't agree with the note, though.

Holy crap that's a lot of mulch. 4yds took us a whole day with ppl helping to move. but.. but..

Im sorry but..

Chat Icon Im TOTALLY laughing at your hubby.. over estimate? that's putting it LIGHTLY! hahaha

2 months is a long while. Move the stuff. Neighbor was still rude but can't say totally unjustified. I'd probably would have run over on day one and said "Im so sorry, we over bought but we'll get working on making it smaller as soon as possible"

Even with my (now what seems measily) 4yds I made sure to let my neighbors know it was coming and we were going to clean up as fast as we could. I had a huge dump truck drop it on the driveway so it I figured it was only fair to warn them it was coming.

20 yards.. heck of a lawn you must have!

Re: Rude neighbor or justified?

That's a LOT of mulch to be sitting around for almost two months (even if it was slowly shrinking). They were obviously wrong for putting that sign up, but they accomplished their goal, because now you are hustling to get rid of the rest of it. And now you know for next year what you can and can't handle mulch-wise.

And now you also know for the future that leaving piles of stuff on the street for months is going to annoy the majority of people.

Rude neighbor or justified?

2 MONTHS?????????

My husband works 6 days a week and is tired on Sunday's too but he wouldn't leave that there overnight, let alone two months.

I think only cars, or dumpsters can be placed in the street since its a public road, not owned by property owners... So yeah they could probably get away with putting a sign up- even though its balllsy.

next time put it on the sidewalk and block that off.

20 yards of mulch is a lot. I would be annoyed too if it was left in the street. I have my mulch dumped in the driveway. No need for it to be in the street.
