Re: Sasha just bumped her head-- any cause for concern? UPDATED with Q
Posted by Blissful
I can understand our concern as a mother, but as a former Critical Care Healthcare worker, IF she had a concussion or head injury she could still flinch because of the involuntary and voluntary nervous system of her brain. Its MORE important to observe her interactions when she is awake.. if she is behaving normally , she is fine...
I do understand its scary when your babies hit their head, but I'm serious when I say they have a lot of padding. Babies brains contain MUCH MORE CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) than most adults to protect their brain from situation like this since its COMPLETELY normal for them to topple over and bump their noggins... It would be MORE COMMON for an adult to sustain a concussion from falling over like this then an infant or child.
If you are that worried Rani, call your ped, they should be able to assure your fears.
I hope you have a good night!
Ah, I see. Oh well. Randi already called the ped so she is asking us for support.
I am sure she is fine, Randi but do what makes you feel best.

Re: Sasha just bumped her head-- any cause for concern? UPDATED with Q
Well, she slept from 6 30 to 5-- then I waited til 6 to go in and get her. She ate and was happy playing, etc. Still no bump on the head.
I checked on her twice after I went to sleep last night-- and she seemed fine.
She is down for a nap now-- and doesn't want to go to sleep-- so no extra fatigue! Not for Sasha!
Thanks for everyone's advice and concern. I was mostly concerned about her sleeping because the bump happened at 4PM, if it happened in the morning and I could watch her all day, and I wouldn't have been as concerned about nighttime.
