This is not Little House on the Prairie. There is no need for a shotgun in the house - mounted on a wall, or under a bed. Tell Pa that the number of riots breaking out in Suffolk County is pretty low.
OMG...you are HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!

Right there with you Liza - especially after the post about that woman who was arrested for BFing her child while driving.

Does anyone own a shotgun ?
My husband wants to get one as we are moving out of brooklyn to suffolk. I dont want one b/c we have kids.
I just feel uneasy about it even if it is under lock and key.
Yes our kids are infants and cant even open cupboards yet (heck one of them is still in utero for a couple months). BUT they grow up and fast. I dont feel comfortable owning a shotgun.
I've read the entire thread. I don't care that your husband is in law school. Mine doesn't care that I've graduated and have been practicing for 10+ years when it comes to things that he feels strongly about.
The simple fact - as quoted above - is that you "feel uneasy" and "dont feel comfortable" [sic] having a shotgun in your house around your children. That should be enough for your husband. I know that mine certainly has the respect for me that a simple "no, I'm not comfortable" would be good enough for him.
