DS is an october baby so I was REALLY pregnant in August. I wanted to die. Next time I'm hoping to have a June baby so i can bypass the whole summer.

Depends on when in the summer your LO will come.

DS #1 was born May 28th. Perfect time!! Was starting to get big in the winter then in the Spring it's still cool. Just started to get hot around the time DS was born, but didn't really notice b/c it was just a few days.

with #2 I'm due July 8th (sched c-section). I'm more exahausted anyway since I have a 2 year old and it's been really hot. It hasn't been too bad and I'm at the end. I can't imagine another month of being pregnant in the extreme heat. Glad this one is early July and not mid-August

my home, office and car are air conditioned.... and i think i'd much rather be able to wear sundresses and sandals in the summer as opposed to sweaters, pants, boots in the winter!

this is coming from a girl with DS1 born 7/30/09, and DS2 due 7/18/11.

I had DS in October, so I went through the summer with him. Wasn't horrible.

I had DD in May, it was perfect weather and I didn't have to go through the summer.

I had a late June baby so she is still a summer baby but I was only preggo in the really bad heat for a few weeks.

why not plan for a May/June baby? (you know what i mean by plan)...

i was pregnant mid august through early may and then got to spend the whole summer with my guy

This baby is due in 2.5 weeks. The last week that it was beyond hot I was dying...I literally couldn't move!!!! I'm thankful I'm not going to be pg through July or August!!!!

YES. DS was born 9/14 terrible w the heat! he was supposed to be an april baby but it didn't happen that way

I don't do well in the summer anyway, and I commute to Manhattan so I really was hoping to NOT be big and prego throughout the summer. Luckily DS was due early May (although he ended up arriving early March!), but I bypassed the entire summer. It was GREAT!

If I could have my way for #2, I would want something similar. Like due in May or June - July and August would be a nightmare for me

Depends what your commute is like and when the baby is due...

Late August baby here. Both she and I haha

I had the LIRR and MTA from Huntington to World Financial Center.

God help me but I was MELTING by August. I wanted to die. I was putting water in me as fast as I could but I felt it literally rolling off my back. Ugh. Doc told me summer is harder due to dehydration.

If I had been here in TX where everything is with AC, I think it would have been easier.

I hated having sweaty thighs, sweaty skin, wearing anything during that heat felt like too much. I wanted to shave my head and hook up my arm to an IV for fluids.

All and all I wished I had been either later like Oct or late Sept or much earlier like April May. But June/July/August… ugh!


ETA: Oh and I only had to do it twice but bathrooms in the summer on LIRR! Ugh!

No it's not that bad... and I had an August baby in Florida! I was very swollen if I walked outside for a while in the heat but other than that everything is air conditioned so it wasn't that bad.

DS came on 8/17 and I thought it would be horrible. I liked it. Yes, I swelled. But I got to wear flip flops and maternity tank tops. No need to buy big winter boots or winter jacket. It was all good!

thank God, I won't have to take the lirr to work like I did with DS - I have to be in the car for 30 min so I guess it's not that bad.

There are definitely positives and negatives to having a summer baby.
DS was born 8/28. Last July was the hottest on record.. so I was commuting on the subway and LIRR 9 months pg in that weather... It was miserable.
If I didn't have to commmute to the city I wouldn't have minded as much.
Big positive is you can wear lots of dresses!

I had DS#2 1st week in October, and last year was one of the hottest summers, you can do it! Next time around though I want a spring baby if possible. Both my boys are fall babies.

I can't even imagine. Plus my DS #1 would have been crawling up the walls because I wouldnt have wanted to leave my AC all summer.

DS #1 is December....perfect IMO for a first child
DS#2 is April...Also perfect.

I wanted a summer baby this time around so I could do at home backyard bday parties!
DD #1 was born 3/26 and I hated going through the winter.

I figured it would be much easier wearing sundresses, tanks and flipflops.

I didn't plan well and DC#2 is due 12/7 (whoops!) I'll be really big in the fall- but it's only a few months. The worst part will be being stuck in the house all winter

I have a June 20th and a May 23rd babies - I LOVED it. Warm enough that you are not trapped at home with an infant and you don't want to go to stores you can just take a walk, go to the park etc. Not as stressed about illnesses. I don't think I would want to go later than end of June though. Every year at the pool I either have had friends who were pregnant or spoke with moms who were due later and most of them seemed rather uncomfortable. There is not always a choice - but if you can try for earlier in the summer/late spring versus middle to end of summer then that is what I would try to shoot for.

DS is an October baby and I dont remember being too uncomfy with the summer heat. But then again everywhere I went there was air conditioning lol. I wouldnt mind another October baby for #2. I'd much prefer the heat over having to drudge around in snow with a huge belly kwim.

DS is an early September baby - the summer sucked, I'm not going to lie! Granted, my house doesn't have A/C and I was on bedrest, but I think it would have sucked regardless.

DD was born July 1 and that June was not hot at all so wasnt so bad. With this pregnancy I am having a scheduled c section on July 18 and all I can say is I really really really really really really (etc etc) PRAY that we dont have any more days like last weeks 90s before then. It was hell for me. I was miserable if I left the house and I am usually fine with the heat. Well apparently heat and me pregnant do not mix well. Maybe if you can plan (as if planning a pregnancy is that easy!) for a May or June baby that would be your best bet!
