Sitting up unassisted

I know every child is different but at what age did your child sit up unassisted?

Re: Sitting up unassisted

Do you mean get into a seated position or sit steadily?

For DD-around 7 months to sit steadily, 9 months to get into seated?

For DS-around 10 months to sit steadily, about 12 months to get into seated.

Re: Sitting up unassisted

Both girls could tripod sit(using hands for support) for long periods of time around 2-3 months old. Both of them could sit unassisted with no tipping a few days shy of 5 months.

DS will be 7 months in about a week and he will sit for 5-10 minutes but still falls over. He's getting better everyday though! :)

DD sat unassisted at 6 months.

4.5 months for short periods of time. For longer periods of time around 5 months (maybe 5 months, 1 week).
