Thanks everyone!!!
I cancelled the ped appt. He shrugged it off as eczema and that's not it...so I don't think he understands this...nor my feelings. I am emotional and at times irrational when it comes to my baby...so I need to persue this. Great doctor and I don't mean to imply anything or looking to leave...this was just not the help I was looking for.
I just called Dr. John Walczyk and although he cannot take appts until December, his new doctor coming in will see us in October and the receptionist was very helpful so that made me feel better. She acted like my concern was her concern...I appreciate that.
THANK YOU DEIRDRE!!!!
No problem!!!!! Dr. Walczyk is awesome and I'm sure any doctor he welcomes into his practice will be as well. When I first brought Ainsley to him I cried in the examination room - I was just frustrated by my pediatrician and feeling overwhelmed and I just started crying. He was great and sat down with me and talked with me for a loooooooong time. He even told me about his daughter who had a hemangioma as well.
We were referred by him to the Laser Skin Surgery Center of NY for laser treatments and we LOVED them. So if you happen to get a referral there for a 2nd opinion or a treatment - you are in THE BEST hands!

Re: Skin discoloration question...help please
please stop looking on the internet - you will drive yourself crazy it doesn't sound like vitiligo - plus, vitiligo in children is very rare. usually shows up between age 20-30.
my sister has 4 girls, 2 of whom had exactly what you're describing when they were babies/toddlers - oval-shaped areas of discoloration. they are now ages 20 and 13, and it has gone away entirely. it was just a benign depigmentation thing.
i would see a derm if you're concerned (you can ask your ped for a referral, i would think) - but i wouldn't worry too much about it

I am glad you are going to go see a derm, that will give you peace of mind that you need
I have a hemangiona on my ankle, that was removed when I was 11, but has since grown back. And what you are describing is NOTHING like mine.
And I agree, stop using Google!!! It doesn't always help
