Ugh I'm leaving work from Queens at 2 with my toddler, just hope we can make it home before 4. What a mess.

Oh wow...thanks for this update. I get out of work at 3:30, and it usually takes me about 45 minutes to get home, so hopefully I won't have a problem. Even if I get most of the way home, I can take local streets if need be.
Once there's an official announcement, I'm going to see if those of us who need to can get out early.

I would hope so. It would cause more chaos if they waited until the last minute.
IMO, they should have announced it already so people can prepare to leave early.

If they are planning those closures, its ridiculous that less than 2 hours before they are closing there is no announcement! They cant just up and close major roadways with no notice!

The Governor thinks he is some kind of hero. Trying to avoid what happened last year.
Only this is going to be much worse if he just up and closes roadways with no announcements.
People have to get home. Nobody is going to just stay put where they are.
So all side roads will be clogged.
Real intelligent.

At my job, we have a fleet of huge trucks out and supposedly there was an advisory posted that this was the plan. I just don't understand why they would wait until the last second and cause utter chaos on the roads.

My guess would be THEY probably don't even know what they're doing. I really hope they don't wait until the last minute though, that's just going to cause more accidents with everyone rushing to get home.

I do miss the snow!
We are coming back to NY in Feb 2015 and I'm REALLY hoping its snowing at that time! :D haha
But right now, no I don't miss the chaotic forecast of the 'blizzards'. Ironically, we still watch the weather for that area since we have family and friends.

Thank you. We can all stop the panic. I have been on the roads all day. Major roads are perfectly fine. It's only back back roads that even have anything on them.
