So just went crib shopping.................
just curious how much did everyone spend on just your crib alone...Dh and I saw one we loved converts into the toddler bed just wondering if we are nuts to spend what they were asking..btw went to Behrs in seaford...gorgeous stuff

Update****** just went to Bellini and until August 31st if you buy one piece you get the second at half off...we are going with them

We paid $300 for our crib from BRU. Higher price doesn't always mean better. Read Baby Bargins reviews for more help!

Bonavita Peyton Lifestyle crib - $320 with 20% off coupon ($399 originally at BBB).
Taxes, Delivery, and Set-Up amounted to another $100.
I couldn't justify to myself spending more than $400 on a crib. Even that amount is ludicrous to me.

$399 minus 15% off--so about $339 plus i got a free $120 mattress when i bought it at BRU!!
DS's crib was about the same price and is perfect. more money doesn't equal a better crib. i agree to review the brands in baby bargains--it helped us make our decision
we are not buying rails since we don't know for sure if we're converting it. if we do, we'll buy it then.

Ours was on sale at JCP for $299
which reminds me i need to order the converter rails b/c it converts to a toddler and full size bed.

the one I want goes from around 700 with a discount, about 900 at regular price ...
not sure if its the one yet... but I haven't liked any others I've seen so far, they all look like little jails to me.

DD's was $500 for the crib, and I think we paid another $250 for the conversion kit. We'll transition her into a bed and reuse the crib for the new baby.

The one we were planning on getting from Behr's was $499.00. The one we actually purchased from Sukons was $519.00. We purchased a crib, double dresser, night table and mattress for $1700.00 including tax and delivery.
I liked Sukons too....you should go there as well. Nice selection.

About $200. It had solid reviews in Baby Bargains, I liked it and I don't intend to use it as a convertible (though it is one) so I didn't want to spend too much on a temporary piece of furniture.....

I felt the same way! I brought the baby bargains book that helped a little, but all the cribs I liked had great ratings anyway!

I knew I wanted a white one, that's all I cared about. We don't really like the way convertible ones are built or the wood quality, so I knew we were just going to buy a bed evenutally.

Mine was even less than $170 
I love my crib. It was perfect. Now they are converted into toddler beds though.

I think I got you all beat in the price department... I bought the 'Nursery in a Box' which included a crib and changing table from JC Penney.com for $170. It's sturdy and perfect! Too bad they don't sell the color I want for DD#2. I'm so bummed!!
