So scared-Just scheduled my baby for surgery
So Ronan has had one ear infection after the other. The ENT encouraged us to have the tubes put in and we decided to do it. He is scheduled for next Wednesday. I am so scared about putting my baby in that position....reassure me please! And send all your good thoughts our way

It'll be ok. My nephew is getting tubes in his ears the first week in Feb. My sister just told me, but she said it's a short procedure and he comes home right after. The Doc said it takes a couple of days till he will feel a bit better. She's more nervous that he has to go under.
Everything will be ok and it's for the best

I have no experience with tubes, but I'm sending lots of reassurance your way that your sweet little boy will be fine! In fact, better since he won't be getting all those ear infections anymore! I know how scary it can be for our babies to need invasive treatments.

It will be FINE, I promise. I was freaking out when miki had to have it done
they will give him Versed to calm him down before the surgery...miki still cried when the nurse took her into the OR
it was over in less than 30 minutes....they will come and get you to bring you back to the recovery room...this is the tough part, once Ronan wakes up, he WILL be upset, they will let you hold and rock him to calm him down (it took miki 15 minutes to stop crying)....he will then hang out for a bit and have some juice...
when we got home, miki ate a bagel  , went to sleep for 3 hours and when she woke up, you would never even know she had a procedure that day
he will be FINE

First-he is my sensitive one so you KNOW he will be absolutely inconsolable..
Second-he'll be like, juice? Whats this?!

I had tubes put in my ears when I was 3 years old. I just remember waking up and eating green jello. I'm sure everything will be fine! I'll be praying for him!

He'll do great. From what I understand it is a quick 10 min. procedure.
I was nervous as heck when I had to put TJ under to be recircumsized but he bounced back quickly.
