Re: so, spill, how often do you wonder (and how many different variables do you imagine) what your baby is going to look like?
I am redhead, pale and freckled...DH is PR.
We were team green.
Announced its a boy. DH runs over for a look.
Comes back to report that the baby is white and looks like my father.
I don't know why we were shocked by this, I am white, but we really thought he would have a hint of spanish...none.

Re: so, spill, how often do you wonder (and how many different variables do you imagine) what your baby is going to look like?
All the time...I even think about it when I'm dreaming. The other night I was looking at baby pictures of DH and trying to figure out what features were prominent and wondering if the baby would resemble him when he was a baby. (My niece looks just like BIL when he was a baby). Last night I had a dream that I was feeding the baby (couldn't see the face) It was a girl (again) but I could see the back of her head and it was full of fine dark brown hair. Plus, I've been having heartburn so bad this week (never had it before) and I read somewhere that heartburn during pregnancy may be caused by hair growth on the the baby's head...Level II sono on Monday,I think I'll be having baby dreams all weekend! (But I love them!!!)

We discuss this ALL the time. This is a 2nd marriage for both me and my DH. We both have children from those marriages. My DD is ALWAYS asking me who the baby will look like... I have my 3D sono on Friday, so hopefully we will be able to see!!

Well I have two babies in there so my mind of going wild trying to imagine boy or girl or boys or girls.
If one is a girl I hope she looks like me
I also hope they both inherit my family's blue eyes.

I thought for sure when my son was born that he would end up looking like my husband. Those dominant Chinese genes have a way of overwhelming my whitey genes. But seriously, my son is a gorgeous mix of both of us. He doesn't look 100% like either of us. He is an amazing mix that is better looking than either one of us.

Re: so, spill, how often do you wonder (and how many different variables do you imagine) what your baby is going to look like?
It's so funny to me reading this thread b/c I am starting to wonder if I am a freak b/c when I was pg with DS I NEVER thought about this! Never!
DS looked JUST like DH for the first few months of his life - then he started to look more like a combo of us. Its easier to tell now his look but his first year he changed so much - He was born with a head full of thick black hair and dark blue eyes. Then his hair almost all gradually fell out so he was a baldy for a while. Now, he has a TON of light brown curly hair and brown/hazelish eyes. In short - he looks nothing like he did as a newborn! So, you still won't know what they look like even when they are here!
