So THIS is what they mean by seperation anxiety...
Steven's always been so good whenever I leave for work or anywhere and he stays home. I've heard of people saying that their toddlers have seperation anxiety, but never really understood.
Well now I can't even leave the room The past 3 mornings he has constantly wanted to be held. He would cry hysterically if I put on my coat, then more hugging. Bag over my shoulder, then more crying and hugging. Leave the house, hysterical crying...so loud I can hear him outside That doesn't make it easy for me here at work thinking about him like that.
And it's not just me...he does it when everyone leaves. He also does it when we leave my moms at night. I feel so badly for him
Any tips or pointers on how to make this "stage" less stressful on the boy?

Re: So THIS is what they mean by seperation anxiety...
my nephew has done this a few times when his Mom drops him off for me to watch him(I watch him 10hours everyday) its usually when he is tired or after a long 3 day weekend but I always tell her its harder for her than him because once she is gone he gets over it right away ......I am sure it breaks your heart but I am sure your DS is ok he just misses his Mama

Re: So THIS is what they mean by seperation anxiety...
I know this isn't advice but we are going through the same thing. My DD who was SOOO independent will not go to sleep by herself anymore, refuses to hang out in her crib with her bottle watching her FP rainforest soother as I shower which we have done for MONTHS, cries hysterically when I drop her off at day care- and just whines when I leave the room. I thought I wanted a baby who needed me a bit- boy was I wrong. Hang in there

I usually find that when DD is clingy, it usually means she's not feeling well, i.e. teething. I'm not sure if there's really separation anxiety on her part cause we're always together!

^ This is exactly how I feel! ^
Thanks ladies
We haven't changed our routine so this is all definately a phase. He now realizes that people are leaving and as he gets older he knows we won't be back all day.
