I haevn't gotten any yet but love my Mom's take on it. She got one at on NHP Rd and Marcus Ave. She says now you can't wait for a yellow or red, you have to stop at a stale green light or the camera will catch you.

I live right there and go through that light a few times I day. I was just telling DH that I literally get anxiety as I approach the light hoping it stays green!

About 7 yrs ago I got TWO 2 days in a ROW!! I was driving to my then job and saw the camera flash. Dumb move to b/c I knew that the camera was there.

Rt 112 northbound at the south service road for the LIE - so far that's the only one
ETA: for those of you who got a right on red in an intersection where you can make the right on red - why don't you argue it? I was going straight and it was obvious that I ran the light by the pics, but if the pic shows you making a right - why just pay it? I'd be pizzed and fight....

I was caught speeding in Spain by a highway camera. I was doing about 70 in a 50 zone. They must've gotten my info from the car rental company and mailed the fine to me here in the U.S. After converting it from € to $ the fine was approximately $400!  I just ignored it.

We've gotten 2 of these on 2 different trips, but I have them paid because we go back so often and I want to be able to rent a car without any problems....

Well it's not the rental car companies that I'd be afraid of, it's more like getting stopped at customs for an outstanding fine. I only go to the EU about once a year and I don't plan on being back in Spain for a while. I figured eh, if they stop me I'll just pay it then. I'm merely deferring the payment

I got one in Douglaston on Northern Blvd, one on Queens Blvd in Kew Gardens (I was in a funeral procession so I think I could have fought it but didn't want to jump through the hoops to do so) and I think I got another one but I am not sure.

One making a left, one making a right on red but I didn't come to a complete enough stop (you're allowed to turn right on red there)
i havnt but DH has and it was this light.... we hate this light, it changes very fast from yellow to red!
I've been told to be careful at this intersection in particular - that because of the weird configuration, it's easy to get one.
Mine was from a while ago, in Queens at Union Tpke and Franny Lew.

just curious though, how much are the tickets now? I keep thinking that because they seem to be everywhere now, more will be coming in the mail...especially since DH's car is registered to me...thank goodness there are no points associated with these tickets.

They were $50 when I got mine but now I heard they're $75? $50 fine + $25 processing fee...

On Merrick Rd. in Massapequa. The one at the light where Smokin' Al's is.
I always drive super slow there now and we always stop if the light turns yellow. This is how I got it the last time. I tried to beat the yellow light.

DH got one at the end of summer. I think it was in Long Beach.
He has come home a few times warning me to expect another in the mail but none of come. Whew. He has to do a lot of driving for work. Although he is a very cautious driver I feel like he is at a higher risk of getting them because of how much he drives.

You cant. I looked up the violation online.
You have to STOP, then make the right. I just got caught with2 red light tickets 2 days apart for making a right on red througha red light.
The statute states you have to STOP, then go.

In Queens on Woodhaven Blvd. That street has a lot of cameras! I try to avoid taking it if I can.
