I don't rememeber what didn't get purchased but we went shopping about a week later and spent about $500 to complete it.
Aside from registry gifts I got a TON of blankets, clothes, and bibs.

Like PP said, I got a TON of bibs, receiving blankets, and clothes.
In terms what I didn't get that I registered for, it was a few small things, like feeding things (sippy cups, bowls, etc), and a few items I registered for to decorate DS room (lamp, mobile)

We got a ton of clothes, bibs and blankets that werent on the registry. We didnt put any clothes at all because i knew we would get tons.
The items left on the registry were little items such as underpads, a crib sheet, and a couple of breastfeeding accessories.

We pretty much got EVERYTHING. We had to bring alot back cause we had alot of clothes, we have like 300 in credit for when he needs clothes. We had to get the swing and breast pump. Anything we bought back that wasnt really need we just exchanged for the other things we wanted.

I didn't get: Breast pump, nursing supplies, bottles
I did get: 83741 pairs of socks, big, thick, totally unusable blankets, and a basket of little stuff (teething gel, extra pacis, baby tylenol, a splat mat). That basket was the best gift ever.
