Spin off to "401K" post
Does your employer contribute anything to your retirement plan?
Mine contributes 1%...LOL...but hey I guess it's better than nothing.

no but they do contribute 15% of my salary every year to a 100% employer funded pension plan...i am 100% vested after 3 years

I have something similar...but it's sure not 15%! More like 5%. But I'll take what I can get.

4% up to 5% of salary. I contribute 15% to the 401(k) plan.
For the people who say their employer matches 15% are you sure? Or, is that the amount you contribute?

They make a one-time contribution of a certain percentage which is announced at the end of the year.

401K - my company matches dollar for dollar up to 3% of your salary and then they will match 50 cents for every dollar for the next 2%.
Pension - my company puts in 4% of your salary into a pension plan each year and you are fully vested after 5 years of service.

When I worked my company matched dollar for dollar up to 6% of my salary then they also contributed 5% to a company pension plan that I was vested in after 5 years. So if I contributed 6% I got back 11% from them. Nice deal.
