Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

I put DS to bed late..because I like to spend time with him before we both go to bed..KWIM....

So, DS goes to bed usually around 9pm, give or take...

How much time on average are you able to spend with DC before bed, if you worked all day?

(DS is 3 months)

Usually around 1.5 hours, sometimes less depending on what time I get home.

I get home between 6:30-7pm (depending on the train I catch) and she's usually fallen asleep on me after her last bottle by 8:15PM.

Loey sleeps with me, so we usually go to bed around 8:30 or 9.

I get home around 3:30 usually, so I feed him at that time... we play until 5 and then he takes a nap while I make dinner and we eat. Around 6:30 I feed him again... then we play some more, wind down... then go to bed (usually feed right before bed too).

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

I get home earlier then most so I usually get between 4 & 5 hours with DS. I am in my house most of the time by 3 or 4. So we can hangout, go for a walk, etc. Then I make dinner and have our night time together.

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

we're home at 5 and he goes to bed around 7:30. Although in that 2 hours it's dinner, playtime, bath, bottle and bed. A good hour of playing or going for a walk/playground if it's nice

Mason is almost 10 mons. He can't go to sleep later than 7:30... loves his sleep LOL

I usually get about 45 minutes with them. I try to leave early enough to get home by 6:30 and they are down for the night by 7:30 at the latest. Luckily I only work three days a week, though.

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

We get home 5 or 6 depending on the day and on daycare days he is just exhausted and falls asleep on me around 6:30..but will need one more feeding so I keep him in the living room until after the next feeding and then put him in his crib around 9:00.

(his last feeding he is usually 1/2 asleep thru it)

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

About 2 - 2.5 hrs. I work until 5:30pm. After I pick him up from daycare we get home by 6:15 pm, If I am picking him up from my mom's house I am lucky to get home by 6:30pm because we usually end up chatting a bit. DS is in bed by 8:30pm. It used to be more time when he would go to bed later, but now he is in bed by 8:30 or 9pm the latest. DS still does not STTN 100% of the time and I find that it is worse if he is not asleep by 9pm.

I also have to cook with in this time so I try to make things that are easy so I can play with DS. I also plan to start using my crockpot more often so dinner can be 90% done already by the time we get home.

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

Not much. I get home anywhere from 7 to 7:30 and DD's bedtime routine starts at 7:30. By 8:15 I say goodnight to her...

I spend more time with her in the morning and that's probably why I won't give up my morning cuddle time with her - she usually wakes up around 5:30 and I bring her in my bed so we can snuggle together until I have to get up at 6:30.

We get home around 6:30.

His last bottle is between 7:30-8:00, and then he's asleep for the night.

DD is 2

I pick her up from daycare at 5 and she goes to be at 8. So 3 hours a day during the week.

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

I go to work early so i have more time. I'm usually home by 3 and she goes to bed by 8...so in theory i get 5 hours... In reality, i'm busy cleaning, cooking and running our older DD around, so i'd probably get about 2 hours of good quality time with the babes.

2.5 hrs now that he goes to bed at 9 but when he was an infant and went to bed at 7 (it was impossible to keep him up later), it was only an hour Chat Icon

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

Im home by 6:15; on daycare days DH picks DS up by 5:45;

so by the time we get him to sleep, maybe 3 hours. and a lot of times DS goes down for a nap after 7 and will sleep until 8 or so, then get up for his last bottle/changing/bed time. so often times its even less.

I do the same thing. I get home a little before 6 and DS goes to bed around 8:30-9. So I see him about 2 1/2 -3 hours

Get home at around 5:30 and dd goes to bed at 8:30-9:30...sometimes she doesn't wake up as soon as we get home so it really depends.

ETA: I don't keep her up, she usually falls asleep with her last bottle...she pretty much created this routine. Before I went back to work (I went back when she was 14wks) she was going to bed even later!

Re: Spin off to bedtimes...working mommies..

I pick DD up around 5:30 and we start bedtime at 7pm.

While I would love to spend more time with her on the days I work, she does not nap at daycare and by 7pm she is miserable. It would be selfish of me to keep her awake just to spend time with her.

Every child is different. - Sean is 11 months and he's still going to sleep at 9 or 9:30 -
If he doesn't get a good nap,he's tired by 8:30 and I put him down for the night.

Being that he is only 3 months old, I am not so concerned righ now. 9pm is just around when he falls asleep..I'm not holding his eyes opened, screaming play with me...I'll adjust it to what is best for our family when I feel it's necessary..but thank you!
