Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
Wow I'm surprised at the amount of mommys wanting another c-section. Before mine all I kept hearing were horror stories about recovery (except my sis who said it wasn't bad) everyone else was like the recovery is so horrible. I was so pleasantly surprised that my recovery was pretty easy. My SIL just had vaginal and her recovery was worse. I'm more scared of pain down there though then in my stomach

Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
I put other. I don't know, I'm not pregnant again or anything, so I guess when the time comes I'll discuss it with my Dr. I would hate to labor all over again and end up with another c-section. The thing that really bothers me about scheduling a c-section is that I would be picking the baby's birthday. This bothers me for some reason. I want the baby to pick it's own B-day. I know, I'm crazy!

Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
my doc didn't mention a waiting period but i'm nowhere ready to consider #2
having a csection was my biggest fear and sure enough after 22hrs i had to have one - the surgery itself didn't hurt but i did not have a good recovery AT ALL and have no desire to repeat that ever

Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
I am definitely going to have another C-section. Although I couldn't sleep and was anxious for days before hand (mine was a scheduled C-section), and the recovery is tough - I still don't want a VBAC.

Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
I didn't vote since the choices didn't suit my actual situation, but I DID want to try VBAC with my 2nd DD, but it didn't work out that way and I had a scheduled c/s. During the surgery, I called over the curtain, "So, Dr. D, if I have a 3rd is VBAC an option?" She peered over and replied, "Not gonna happen!"

Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
After going through 24 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing and THEN an c-section I'll be opting for a c-section for #2, my recovery wasn't bad even with a few complications and I really don't want to have to go through all of it again. I'd rather cut straight to the end.
I can't begin to explain the pain when they told me to stop pushing and shut off my epidural so I could MOVE MYSELF onto the stupid gurney to take me to the OR. I'm still mad about that.

I would have another c-section also. No thanks to labor and pushing.

Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
I would fall into the "not sure" category. I was induced b/c I was late and was starting to get high blood pressure. I went through 30 hrs of labor finally got to 10cm, pushed for 2 hrs and then wound up with a c-section b/c DD flipped sunnyside up. I really wanted to deliver vaginally and got really upset when they told me I needed to have a c-section. However the recovery wasn't all that bad from the c-section but I had a double whammy b/c I had pushed so I was sore everywhere. I'm not sure I'd want to go through hrs of labor to just have to wind up with another c-section.

Re: Spinoff to C-Section TTC waiting period
I am not positive, but I may try a VBAC. Which is why I want to loose more weight before getting preggo again, so that I have a better chance of a successful VBAC (though I know there is no gaurantee).

I already replied upthread to the original topic but I just want to say that you're not crazy. Even when I knew my 2nd & 3rd pregnancies would be c/s, I didn't want to pick a date when scheduling it, I left it up to whatever availability they had that week so I didn't totally control the date. HOWEVER, both my c/s babies decided to come on their own - my DD was a week early and DS #2 was 2 weeks early. So sometimes planned c/s babies do pick their own birthdays.

I'm not sure I'd want to go through hrs of labor to just have to wind up with another c-section.
Since you said you are in the not sure catergory, I just want to say that with a VBAC, they would not let you labor for hours. They have to keep very close guard over many factors in a VBAC, moreso than a regular vbirth. If you labored too long and were not progressing, they would do a c/s a lot quicker than they otherwise would if you didn't have a prior c/s.

Oh I had a HORRIBLE recovery (hours in recovery room and horrible pains afterwards). Still my dr. is totally against a VBAC. My uterus bled more than normal. A c-section is the only way I will have another one. By my doctor and by choice by me.
