Like if you go out for a long day out or everyone is at work/daycare? Is it too cold in the house for DC when you get home?

We turn it down slightly but that's it. It would be too cold and cost more money to "reheat" the house when we got home.

Absolutely AGREE! If you look on energy providers websites, they will tell you never shut off heat/ac b/c it costs more to heat/cool the house if you do so!

We lower the heat when no one is home - I hate walking in to a home that is cold and then I have to adjust my body temperature for a long period of time waiting for the heat to come all the way up again.

I agree...we have our thermostat programmed to lower the heat when we are expected to be out. And it's easy to override when we are home instead.

We just lower it when we're out.
