Who said you dont work hard? See this is what im saying...most people are more concerned about what the president can GIVE them and in order for that to happen he will take AWAY from OTHERS.
Im saying OBAMA doesnt think that the people who make 250K work hard enough to keep that money....he wants to tax the hell out of them! Is that really fair?
Well this all doesnt really matter now...congrats to all of you who voted Obama...hes now president! God so help us all!
So what's wrong with a flat income tax instead of tax brackets? Why couldn't everyone pay say 20% for income tax and it doesn't matter your income. Yes doctors help people but so do a whole slew of other healthcare professionals who do not have MD at the end of their name. Educators go to school for a long time and teach our children and trust me they don't make what doctors make. But they deserve to pay more in taxes? Garbage men don't even need a college education but guess what... without them we'd have garbage all over and dirt and disease. All jobs are important for various reasons. I don't think it's fair to say that certain title deserves to pay less in taxes.

According to something I saw on the news, more black people are voting in this election than ever before and primarily for Obama.
Do you think some black people (who are not necessarily politics savvy or people who have never voted before) are voting for Obama just b/c he is black?
I have seen many interviews on TV where they are interviewing black people and it seems like that is the only reason b/c the people interviewed didn't know anything about his policies. DH works in a primarily black area and more than once when he has arrested someone they have said to him "arrest me now b/c once Obama gets elected you won't be able to arrest me anymore".
Just curious what your thoughts are.
It amazed me how many people have a question about people voting just because he's black.. when no one questions women voting for Palin just because she's a woman.. and no one questions people who WON'T vote for Obama just because he's black.. but just to answer your question.. there are a lot of things that happen just because you're black..
We were denied the right to vote JUST because we're Black..
We are pulled over on the highway JUST because we're Black..
We are denied jobs, loans, and houses JUST because we're Black
So when we have a brilliant Candidate for president who is BLACK YEP! I am voting for him JUST because he's black..this is historic..
and the fact that I agree with his policies is the icing on the cake. I will admit without shame or fear that I am HAPPY, THRILLED, ECSTATIC that a Black man will be the next president of the United States.. but it is not only because he's Black.. he's also qualified.. The same ardent support would not be provided if it was Flava Flav running..
OBAMA in '08!!!
Although I agree with you that some women would vote palins way bc she is a woman, I also think many backed off bc she has made many incoherent responses when asked questions. I can appreciate the "woman" factor if it were Clinton just not Palin.

Re: spinoff to post "nonsense at polling lcoations" re: race and voting for Obama
I want to add that it really hit me this morning when I saw the pic in the paper of Obama and his family from last night. I did not vote for Obama, but I teared up because it's such an amazing thing that this country came together and progressed. We have come a long way and it made me so proud of him and our country. I happily accept him as our president and look forward to what he will do for us.

race is absolutely playing a big role in this election. ITA
and when Obama wins (b/c it's obvious that he will), expect racism to have the largest presence it ever had.
anyone who doesn't agree with Obama will be called a racist.
JMHO and predicton
I agree with that racism will have the largest presence it ever had, at least for the time being...
DH experienced it last night, when walking the dog after Obama won Ohio and Pennslyvania. A group of AA men were walking by, celebrating, and made a comment about DH being a millionaire. (DH is caucasian and far from being a millionaire by the way)
No one would've ever said anything before, except 'nice dog'. Now he's a millionaire because he's a white guy in Manhattan?

Re: spinoff to post "nonsense at polling lcoations" re: race and voting for Obama
As a minority myself I am so tired of people playing the minority card. I didn't vote because of race and gender. I voted based on my views and who closely matched my views. Period.
Maybe Obama will motivate all minorities, whether black, female, hispanic etc. to learn that the power of success is within themselves. Because as long as minorities see themselves as 'minor' they will be treated as so by the majority.
Obviously this is a giant step but every person needs to stop seeing color or gender and start seeing people and their character. Just as Martin Luther King Jr. said in his I have a dream speech.
