Re: spinoff: what clubs did you frequent
Did anyone else go to the Chipendale's show at Metro 700, sneak into the bathroom so they could get into Metro 700 when it turned into the club before they were 21?? Obviously, I did...

Does anybody remember System in the mid nineties? It was such a fun place!!!Clubby, but smaller and cozier than the larger clubs. I think it eventually became Plaid in the 2000's? It was on 11th between 3rd and 4th, possibly.
Also, we loved Madison's on the Upper East in the late nineties. Very fun place. It is very young now and has changed names. Don't remember the new one?
ETA: Oh, and the old Buddha Bar on Varick street. That was more of a bar but fun place. Anyone rem that?
I remember all of them!!! I stopped going to clubs pretty much once I was of age...so I was at System as a teenager. We also went to Mars, Limelight, Paladium (one of my BMs met her DH there!), Danceteria, the Building...I can't even remember anymore.
Once I was of age, I was all about bars.. enter Madisons (I've NEVER had a bad time there!!) and Buddha Bar and just about every bar to ever open it's doors in Bay Ridge. Although there were a few of those I refused to go to after I was 21. Faces was my Friday night spot from 19-20. I think it's a window store now.

That is funny. Since I went to college in Brooklyn, FACES was huge with all the kids. I never got to go there.
Oh and pretty much every single Bay Ridge bar was so much fun!!!!!!

Re: spinoff: what clubs did you frequent
soundfactory- for JP Tunnel for Justin time and Danny Tenaglia and Twilo for Junior Vasquez. Exit occasionally if there was a good DJ- I love the music and I go to DANCE and other things I wont mention on a public forum I went just about every weekend for a while when I was 19. But I started around 18 going and then by 21 I had to stop it was just tooooo much...
eta: I was a shot girl in the long island clubs ( beachhouse dublins co co's etc) so went there first then to the city for after hours

Once I was "of age", going to clubs wasn't fun anymore because I KNEW I could get in
Ditto!!
I started clubbing at...ready...13!!
Casa Quisqueya baby!!
me too, 13, climbed out my window and hopped on that train, would get home before 8am and it was all good! My Mom tells me that she alwasy knew I was sneaking out but actually spit out her wine the night I told her I traveled all the way into the city, she thought I walked up the block to my Bestfrind's house.
Me three! Isn't it nuts how they let us in at that age?!?
Some others:
Latin Quarters (oh how I miss LQ!) Copa 440 (sh!thole) Amasura Carbon (aka Exit) VooDoo Lounge Club NY
