Also to those that are deciding to hold your kids back. If they are in a preschool program you should talk to the preschool teacher before you decide to hold them back 100%. You may be surprised and they may be ready for kindergarten.

This is true, but my concerns are not just academic. I also worry about my little guy being the smallest and youngest in the grade too, and possibly too immature socially. He is such a late birthday. It all depends on the situation at the time, but I am already mentally prepping to wait until he is 5.

we're currently in Oceanside which is 12/31 and moving to merrick which is 12/1 DD is 12/20

I'm in NJ and my town is 12/1 but every other town surrounding me is 10/1. I wish mine were 10/1 because DD is 10/22 and I'm debating on what I should do.....
