spotting- bright red

i'm 6 weeks, and I've been spotting a dark brown color for the last two days, but today it became bright red and heavy enough that it is now on my underwear, and not just when I wipe (sorry TMI). I am very worried, and called the dr.- I have an appt for tomorrow afternoon after work. Has this happened to anyone here who had/has a perfectly normal pregnancy now?

Yes I spotted/bled with both of my healthy pregnancies. I know it's terrifying but try not to worry too much. Hoping all goes well at your appointment tomorrow!

Hi, I know how scary it is. My doc says some bleeding can be normal. If you are not cramping I think you can draw comfort from that as the combo isn't the best situation. I know there are several women on here who bled and have good pregnancies. Do your best not to jump to the worst, put your feet up and see how your scan is tomorrow.

Yes, I spotted a lot with my first pregnancy and it was bright red at times too, probably up until 10 weeks or so and then I had another scare at 24 weeks, but I delivered a full term healthy baby boy. Try not to worry too much, as I know it is hard. I hope all goes well tomorrow!

I had red spotting with my 2nd pregnancy and it ended in a miscarriage. A month later I got pregnant again and had red spotting and even in the toilet. I thought for sure it was another miscarriage but I am now waiting to give birth any day. Try not to drive yourself crazy and don't bother to look online. I had the same symptoms with a both negative and positive outcomes. Good luck

I spotted around 8 weeks until about 13-14 weeks. I had a subchorionic hematoma that resolved itself. I had my twin girls in June!

I had a bright red bleed at 5w2d and it was only when I wiped but it was for only a couple of minutes. It was sub choronic hematoma. For the rest of the week it was dark brown but only when I wiped then went away. I'm currently 14 weeks.

I had spotting (no cramping) during both of my pregnancies early on, but never a lot, and it typically ended very quickly.

Just hang in there until you can see the OB.

thanks everyone- my appt is at 630, I'll keep you posted. I'm not cramping at all, but I've been wearing pads all day so I'm thinking the worst. Hope I am wrong

It was a miscarriage :( the dr said it was pretty normal and everything looks clear in there now, so he said we can try again in a month or so- just going to keep my spirits up, since there was nothing we could do about it... Hopefully I get pregnant again soon!
